A clink of metal on rock brought his focus back to the present. He had struck something harder than the surrounding stone. A flicker of excitement coursed through him as he chipped away at the surrounding rock, revealing a large, gleaming nugget of silver ore. A triumphant smile spread across his face as he added the precious ore to his growing collection.

"This is more like it," he muttered, his voice echoing in the cavern. "Let's see how many more I can find."

Alex continued his search, his pickaxe striking the rock with a rhythmic clang, each strike bringing him closer to his goal.
