Another Two Days

I have changed how I do the daily 'rolls'... I have switched out the rolls for spins and I can now add new abilities, powers, etc, to the list of stuff.

Please feel free to suggest some abilities in my discord! I can't come up with everything.

Hope you enjoy!

(DAY 1)

/////

I woke up to the ringing noise of space cracking, my senses picking up the clandestine fracturing of the material plane around me. Concepts and elements emerged like a tidal wave, seeping into me in an attempt to bestow the power of precognition. It was interesting, in comparison to leveraging concepts and elements towards spell-craft this was soaking into my skin as if it were water draining into a desert. The power slipped over the surface of my skin before creeping upwards and crawling up to my neck. I stayed perfectly still, the process of the concepts and elements fascinating me as they were uniquely patterned and arrayed to imbue certain ideas into my existence, my soul.

Shuna was beside me on the couch, the TV completely blackened. The air was cool and fresh, the smell of rain reaching into the house like invading tendrils of odours. Elements and concepts slowly slithered from my neck up to my eyes before withdrawing backwards into the air like small vines or tendrils. The shape of these soul-changing powers was reminiscent of nature in the way that the movements of them slowed, quickened and jutted to different forms. The tendrils pulled back even further before slapping down into my eyes, light glowed from my eyes as I felt slight sensations of being burnt. Deep in my brain I could feel something carving down onto some element of my being with what seemed like a needle. If I were not more learned now I would think that someone was tattooing something into the inside of my mind.

Light faded from my sockets, sleepiness ploddingly converging back into my mind. Next moment that I was conscious the sunlight cascaded into the room through open windows, Shuna walking around the room in silence. The addition from last night was intriguing. Spatially there was no difference, my vision was unimpeded or bothered. Simply i felt a moveable organ within my brain. Much like you would flex muscles within your arms or in your legs, I flexed this new 'organ' and felt the remote i was looking at slowly drift upwards and hover there, completely fixed in position. Blue essence and concepts were involved mainly but there was nothing special about the action, spells being able to do the same with more efficiency. Despite that, I enjoyed the power's intrinsic permanence. I would forever have this power, no person could cut off my connection to it, Raistlin would most likely be incapable of doing it as well.

Setting down the remote I twisted space with some concepts and essence, emerging from space in a cloud of burning shadow, my feet touching the ground in front of my wardrobe upstairs. For the next half an hour I did my morning activities, including the kissing of my wife and the cooking of breakfast. By the end of the half hour Shuna was leaving for work again and I was left to do what I wished to. The door closed behind my wife's back as I slowly looked down at my right hand, some colourless substances flexing and curling with each thought I subjected it to.

'Shalltear. Let's see if we can bring you back.'

I blinked and re-emerged within my office. Ruphia immediately emerged, her height dwarfing my own as she stood there, a cocky smile showing immediately from the moment she saw me.

"You still haven't introduced me to Souei..."

I scoffed a little, my chuckle seizing in the middle of my throat. The Primordial Demon looked very goth, her outfit completely black and purple. To the sides of her rather luscious hips were two katanas, one an ominous crimson red, the other a rather plain looking black and white. There was a small choker around her neck that had small silver studs protruding from it. She wore a trench coat much like Rimuru's but also had some elements of my own mithril armour. It was an impressive wardrobe choice and honestly I couldn't fault the drip. Feeling her gaze piercing into my back like an assassin's blade I called out into space.

Blue essence, Space, projection, quantum entanglement and sound. These were the choices I made for communicating with Souei, my voice immediately reaching him despite the massive distance between us.

"Souei. Report in my office as quickly as you can, someone wishes to speak to you."

I heard him breathe for a second or two before he replied, his voice somewhat strained as he answered.

"Yes Silviana-Sama, I will report there immediately... Ah, sorry, I have to leave..."

I heard some minor kissing sounds emerging before I cut off the connection for privacy's sakes. He had done a lot during the war and was always training spies, observers and secret forces. I was surprised he hadn't done this sooner. The fortunate thing about this method of communication was that Ruphia couldn't hear this at all...

"He is coming over. Our deal is complete. Now, please go inform Rimuru that I want to ask him something about Ramiris."

"Fine, I'll be back soon..."

She slipped into the floor and disappeared. Now alone once again I slipped behind my desk and sat down, going through all of the projects and requests to move up to the island. So far there had ben patrols added to the Island to ensure squatters didn't move in but this would not be effective soon enough, people being people. I began to agree to some of the requests, focussing on those that had kids who would study at the University. I did not base acceptance off of status or wealth. My focus was on children and their education, thus families with multiple children were accepted more often. Single child families were also accepted but the acceptance criteria was having a child in the family.

Ruphia emerged to my side as I was halfway through the stack of papers, several hundred families having been accepted at this point. There were many that I had classified as 'potential' candidates but they would be put on a waiting list until the child-prominent family amount slowed down. There was a knock on the door to my office, Rimuru stepping into the room with sleep-laden eyes. His clothes were all crinkled and creased as he was slumping forwards incrementally through stress or whatever had been affecting him... 'Probably "paperwork..." ' He called out the source of his frustration with a low discordant whine.

"Hmm. Take a break from paperwork. We should give some of the more basic paperwork to subordinates. You focus on achieveing that and I'll handle your paperwork in the meantime."

Rimuru immediately lightened up, the luminosity of hope flashing through his soul and out his eyes. He dropped forwards soon afterwards into his slime form and expanded out thinly over the floor. Laughing at his actions I picked him up with my newly formed telekinesis and sat him on the chair opposite me. He formed back into his Human form before slumping back into his seat.

"I heard you needed some help with Ramiris or something?"

"Yes. She deals with souls and spirits, there is someone I would like to bring back."

He frowned slightly, taking a few seconds before they widened immensely. His juvenile face was easy to see-through emotion-wise still but he was much more mature in his actions now, so I let it slide.

"You want to bring back Shalltear...?"

I nodded.

"Yes. I believe that I made a massive mistake in considering Nazerick enemies straight away. Ainz himself is just a man placed in a hard position, attempting to find his friends or allies. Meanwhile, the 'NPCs' themselves I had just considered artificial constructs..."

He put his left hand up to his chin and began to consume what I was saying, Ciel and himself obviously working to see the angle I wished to play towards.

"Recently I have come into some information that these 'NPCs' could have been and are actually people, entities, beings. They just existed on a different dimension of reality before. Some sort of event, like the one that brought me or you here, has caused the dimensional-physicality of their forms to shift to that of the 3rd Dimension. We made an instant judgement of personality and attitude based upon possibly inaccurate representations in our previous world's fiction..."

"I see. So you are hoping to bridge the gap between our sides with a peace offering and try to communicate with them?"

Nodding once again, I steepled my hands, staring right into Rimuru's eyes.

"This is why I want to bring back Shalltear. We are a nation of monsters and demi-humans... We would not be repulsive to Nazerick, if we were to assume their stance based upon possibly false media. It may not work, but, if my visions are true... It is better to have them neutral to us at the very least."

"Hmmm. This is dangerous grounds to play in. Walpurgis is coming up soon from what Hinata had told us, if we try to do this now and get into a conflict then what keeps them from attacking us when all four of us are at the Walpurgis?"

"This is where estimation comes into play. I do not believe that Ainz would still be a normal entity, he most likely evolved to a Demon Lord and has probably been slowly gaining power. Along with the Unique Skills that all transmigrators or reincarnators get, I am afraid that he will be attending alongside us."

"I don't think its smart to estimate or assume... Is there a way we can secure the city?"

"On the island above there is aerial protection from forces that are below the level of demon lord. Other than that I believe Yuna-"

I felt magic sweep up around the city and encompass the entirety of it, including the Island. The feeling of this magic gave me reminders of the crispy demonic aura of Yuna when she had finished her ascension. Rimuru also sensed this fluctuation and grinned widely as it finished structuring itself and embedding itself over the city. Although the effect of the shield was unknown, it was good to know that she was thinking about something else other than finding brothers and sisters.

"I don't think we have to worry, Yuna seems to have it covered..."

"Yeah. Well, Ramiris?"

"Sure!"

...

I finished speaking to Rimuru, finding the exact location of Ramiris before finishing off my paperwork and having Ruphia grab Rimuru's. He had set off to go setup some department for the signing of certain paperwork. It would be complex to get them to answer properly but with Rimuru and Ciel on the problem, I had unsurpassed amounts of confidence in their capabilities.

There were some more topics related to industries and such that I had to complete for my own work. Many of the industries were suffering from success, there were too many workers for the amount of land they were working on, or buildings they were working in. This was where I had to pull on the knowledge in my mind, outlining certain methods for the Lumbering Industry with relation to the best ways in cutting and getting resources from wood. For our farms I went into crop rotation, irrigation and fertilization. For the textile industry I drew out a basic design for a machine that could do the sewing and threading in a much less physically intense manner, which I left instructions for them to hand over to the Artisan Guild.

The resource trees I had given over to the farms were producing stupendous amounts of materials. Cobalt, Gold, Silver, Copper, all of it was filling large warehouses that weren't getting used enough. Secrecy had been kept for these trees, the Ghosts of Tempest watching over everyone that got close to them. There were a few reports from them about strange individuals trying to observe the trees, a problem that was swiftly dealt with; they were being interrogated. I took some new paper and began to outline the expansion of the Artisan Guilds and adjacent learning facilities. Included in this was the transferral of the trees magically from the caves that they had been hidden inside to the Island above. The move was strategic mainly... We could monitor who left and entered the University Island above the city much more efficiently.

With the increase in amount of resources I dedicated a quarter of the resources towards the creation of coins. For coin-based economies there tended to be a constant stream of currency needed in the economy. From trading with foreign powers to the inner circulation of goods, there would be losses of currency. Normal empires or nations would need to conquer other lands or empires for the sustained prosperity of their economy or increasing taxes. We had an upside that they didn't however... A fully growable and sustainable source of Gold, Copper, Silver and Cobalt. Thus, we could sustain our economy for a very long time, even if the population were to increase. The ultimate reason for currency is the facilitation of trading, if this was unachievable due to a lack of currency or too much currency than currency itself becomes meaningless and people slip back into bartering. Outlining the use of said quarter I then gave half of the materials to the Artisan guild for creation of statues, monuments, buildings, technology, research, etc... Honestly, I was essentially giving them way more manpower and a lot more resources/funding.

Finishing all of my paperwork and then Rimuru's I headed back home and fell asleep watching the third Star Ship Troopers movie with Shuna... Her excitement slowly dying off for the series as the sequels were trying too hard and didn't have the light-hearted but grim tone of the first.

The same thing happened again this morning, except this time the concepts and elements wrapped around my body and pierced into my back. Numbness spread from the area as my tails flicked against the back of the couch chaotically. The lack of feeling was soon replaced by pain however as I realised that my body was connected to some sort of space on my back, a fold of space encapsulating some sort of limb that I had gained.

Vanishing from the couch and reappearing behind the couch I pulled on the strings of this connection the space unravelled, unfurling what could best be described as fairy wings. Four to five multilayered wings spread out from my back, my vision locking onto the reflections of nearby windows to confirm as much. Multicoloured hues ranging from purple and cyan blue rippled along the very thin gossamer-like material that my wings were made of. Flexing my back made my brain twitch now as new instincts that were not there before cemented themselves into my consciousness.

Slow sweeping diagonal movements were made by the multi-layered wings. Light refracted off of them and created a bubbly pattern on the floors below and behind me. Shuna was still asleep, her body squeezed up into a fetal position as she murmured words in her slumber. Both sets of my ears twitched at the same time, pointing in the direction of the door. The outside gate had opened and whoever that had was running towards the door with immense speed. My eyes flared and my powers growled into activity. Then, suddenly, unexpectantly, unrelentingly, Milim crashed into my arms from seemingly nowhere. The previous footsteps from outside had vanished at the same time as Milim collapsed into my arms, my wings folding into the spatial fold.

"HONEY!!!"

"UGhhhhGH, MILIM..."

I fell backwards as she used a lot more force than usual, her playful attitude making her look innocent as she almost decimated me in but a second.
