24. Voulez-Vous.

Damon sighed after Mimi had walked away and Mariella was satisfied, he saw this so clearly. Mariella was not even fazed when Mimi called her cow. She just sat there so damn smug and pregnant, like it was now good that Mimi had left.

Something inside him snapped back into place, and he looked at Mariella for a long moment and said, " Come on, pupil, time to go study."

He had been an idiot and Mimi had been right that Mariella's whims ordered this pack forward, not anymore. Not at all. Mariella would learn and properly so.

Mariella looked at Damon in amazement. What was wrong with keeping every man to herself? She was pregnant, and she did not want Mimi to have so a damn good time. She was hormonal, her cats were hormonal, and they gave her lots of ideas.

Then Charles said, " That one should let those cats go. They give those ideas. They're already so strong."

He had noticed this little thing. He was her protector, but he had eyes in his head and he was quite disturbed by how Mariella had taken Mimi away from him.

Damon looked at Mariella for a moment and this time he was not looking at her anyway friendly and said, " Don't you worry about anything, Cornick. All the cats are leaving now, and then we'll see that Mimi comes back once I get my wife trained. We'll probably move to Edmonton Castle now, where we're going to make the children. They've still got the old nurseries there. I don't even know how many children Mimi is going to make. She was quite round already, so she might need an operation."

Damon was irritated, and Mariella thought to herself," Oops, I've gone a bit too far."

Damon felt no mercy, even though she was pregnant, but she was not as long as Mimi had been. They went down to the basement for a lesson, and Damon was a pretty outstanding teacher. There was no sign of Mariella after three days, except her attitude had been corrected, and every animal inside her had been released. She was quite scared of Damon and sore all over, too. Then Damon took Mariella to bed for four days.

I did everything calmly in the Chicago house because, me and my brood had grown up quite a bit, and my being didn't quite fit in with everything. I did one little thing well. It was not really a little room that I made ready, someday to then show it to him. To Damon. It would be our room and this was a big thing for me. Really freaking big thing.

Then, a week later, when Damon said I could move to Edmonton Castle, I thought, fine. I can move but slowly. I had less than a week left and I was huge. My babies were very active and my organs were smashed somewhere in my ribs because I was so damn full of babies.

I teleported to the portal room and then moved to the castle. This had been in packs during those seven years, so there would be probably some surprises for me. The pack did not fix these terribly; there were some changes, but I tried to go down the stairs. This was slow going, and it took little time for me to step down, one step at a time, with my enormous belly.

" Wow, Mimi, how fucking many are you doing?" Mimosa asked as she came halfway up and walked me about halfway down. She gripped my arm and supported me as we walked down.

I said, "I don't know quite a few, but it won't be long before I get these out." I could feel my body preparing for birthing and I was not sure was I up to it.

I got down the stairs, and Damon came to look at me. He looked surprised and his brows shot upwards as he saw my enormous mound. He gave his arm to me and then he put his hand on my tummy and closed his eyes. He was talking to them telepathically or something.

He said, " Well, I'm glad they're all powered down, but baby, 21, really?" his voice was excited, surprised, and a little apologetic same time.

I laughed and said, " There's plenty to do with the pack then. Isn't that just fine? I will set an example and let's see if anyone can outdo it."

Damon looked at me for a moment, keeping his hand on my womb. I grimaced as a false contraction hit me again, making me pant.

Damon supported me more and said, " Listen, missy, I think we're going to medbay, and I have a feeling we're going to cut those out soon. You have here quite strong contractions to be mere Braxton-hicks, so I am not taking the risk. And I'm not listening to any arguments."

I sighed, and Damon held my arm as we teleported to the medbay. He supported me the whole time and soon there were more salvatores in medbay too, seeing my swollen belly. My back hurt quite a lot because these were quite a damn heavy load to carry around.

He said, " Surgery is the best option because you've grown those as big as you can, and as you can see, they're pretty knotted."

His voice was slightly amused, but still, there were no options here. He decided, not me.

He put a transparency spell on my stomach, and it was full of babies. It was all a big jumble of legs, heads, little bodies. It was really hard to see what part belonged to whom.

He looked at them for a moment and whispered, " We'll get to meet properly soon, the little ones, and then the entire pack will help. Daddy loves you."

He helped me into a proper back or semi-sitting position in bed, and the rest of the pack was already coming in. He lifted my legs up and checked if they were swollen. I had sometimes a little high blood pressure in pregnant, so he checked me over.

Four approached me and stroked me. He too touched my belly, and it was normal for a pregnant woman to be with everyone, touching an object with my enormous stomach.

He said, " One day, we'll find some way to help you put up with the cannulas and stuff again. "

I laughed tightly and said, " Yes, I'll let you put it on. I'll control myself." I kept myself under control.

Damon was already getting the cocktail ready, and a couple of bags were coming. He had tasted my blood before leaving, so he knew the main points what was missing in my blood. He had a veritable army of bottles and substances ready that made his cocktail out of.

He came up to me twenty minutes later when everything was loaded and said, "Seriously, baby, we'll figure something out. Even if it's a training system. I can feel your panic when I'm about to cannulate you. You've got good self-control, and I know it will lead to a build-up of power, but you've got to hang in there."

His voice was gentle and his hands warm and sure as he started to thread the central venous cannula in place, waiting for it to grow in my skin.

He cannulated me, pushed the syringe in, and said, " Sleepy time, baby. Sleepytime."

I blacked out immediately. Cocktail took me under fast and efficiently.

Damon sighed and went to set up the operating room. He was excited and happy. The nurseries were ready, and a few salvatores went to set it up so there was room for all the babies. There were so many babies coming in this first time. They would go into surgery with two, five, seven, and Mariella, and then there would always be others to receive the babies.

He'd get a couple of bags of anesthetic ready for Mimi, thinking that a little supportive care wouldn't hurt, and besides, those bags would completely prevent milk production. Now is not the time to play a dairy. He had tasted her blood and there was little lacking in various values. He was getting to know the babies and the entire pack could care for them because there would be so many of them, and Damon could already feel through the pack bonds how ready everyone was for it.

In a week, it would be Mariella's and the wolves' turn. They would be busy, but it would be a wonderful time, too. And they always had the option of sending the babies to the magic house. There, too, they were all ready and looking forward to it. Their previous children would always take them as their own and raise them somewhere in those thousands of extra dimensions already.

It was their purpose to breed and fill those dimensions with powerful creatures. Each of their female child would get one million embryos that were inside mother, so if these were half and half, Mimi would give about 10-11 million embryos into them, so they could procreate themselves as well.

So breeding was needed in between actually making babies, so there were always those embryos to give. And their DNA changing, they weren't blood relatives, not really. It was magical biology, meant to make them fulfill their duty.

The operating theatre was ready, and Mimi was brought in. He acted fast, opening her belly and womb, taking out these 21 wonders inside her. Damon unloaded the babies, while others measured them, gave drips, and took samples. It was always such a miracle to Damon to take those perfect little copies out, and for some reason, he always made sure that each one had the right number of toes and fingers.

He murmured softly to each one of them, "Welcome to the world, my boy/girl." It was a kind of his thing to make that the first thing they would hear was his voice. He was gentle but efficient and did not rush too much. Mimi's safety was important too.

The surgery lasted eight hours, and then everyone was out. Mimi was recovering, resting, and feeding and would be there for a couple of days. They had taken a blood panel and there was some work to do, in the little lady. Damon went to dress his little ones, and then the entire pack was at it as he first picked out the accessories for everyone. They helped him, but he dressed most of them himself, giving the names as well.

In between, while the babies slept, Mariella and the others tended to the stone room of the Chicago house. There were, of course, all sorts of other things to find alternative places for. This was an immense house, and, and they did not get the first floor up yet.

The stone room had been on the cellar floor with a huge and opulent spa and that had made Mariella wonder if it would be a good idea to link spas too. if somewhere was not so good spa, then this would be the spa to be linked. There was so much more to be moved and changed as well. There was, for example, one or more groups of sofas for which Mariella immediately knew a better place. And those rugs.

Mimi had a brutal carpet stock, and still, often, valuable carpets were on the floor, and they were put away and replaced with other carpets. They would link the stores whenever they remembered, and oh, that hamster store was also busy and full of things to do. She had so many boxes to be opened and it was always surprising what it entailed. So much inspiration. The pack had changed and wanted to get busy. This was going to be tough for the lady as there would be people in the warehouses all the time.

I thought this was a dream when suddenly I was on a sandy beach, and a chaos cat walked up beside me. I saw rainbow islands glistening in the distance and wondered what was going on. Chaos cat approached me, jumped on my shoulders, and curled around my neck like she always did.

She was as light as ever. And as warm. Her little claws pricked slightly at my neck as she massaged first before curling up and purring her rattling moist purr. It was one sound that I had missed so much.

I sat there with the cat on my neck and enjoyed it because I had missed this. It had been many human lifetimes almost since I had last experienced this. I just realized my age then and there. I was probably well over 200 if I counted my human years and still, even without them, over 100 years old.

The chaos cat said, " You will not like what I'm going to tell you, but when it is, what it is." Her voice was not sorry. She sounded as smug as always.

I smiled and wondered what I was going to do now.

The Chaos Cat went on, "Sorry, but it is time for you to save the world once again. European job, you're going there alone at first, and I don't know what's going to happen next. It's going to take a year and a half, and it's going to be fucking hard. You'll go as soon as you wake up."

I cursed in Finnish quite harshly out loud, making cat giggle but she continued mercilessly.

"The pack won't be able to join you, at least not at the beginning, and since it's a matter of free will, it'll be whatever happens. They've got babies coming, and they'll probably look after them. Unfortunately, you can't look after yours now. Go. And then what does the pack do, free will and everything? Same thing as last time. If someone asks you what you do, you can answer, but you can't tell without asking. And you can't ask for help unless they offer it."

I sighed, wondering what was going to come of this.

I sat there on the sand and said, " Why? Why can't I have any kind of steady, favorable time? I've just got my head clearer, and myself sorted out, and now this, a year and a half, and the pack is probably not taking part. Afterward, I'm then tired again, probably hurt, and hardened, and what this will do to our relationship I don't know. Damon can't take it anymore. He can't hope and believe in us anymore. He can't wait for me to trust him. But I have to do what's required of me, and Mercy wasn't wrong when she said so long ago that being in chaos is lonely. But I don't have a choice, and luckily, I've been through this before. "

Cat said to me "Well. God seems to trust that your pack has changed, but only time will tell, right? "

I sighed and said, " Give me the details then so I can think about who I can recruit for this job. At least I have my five who can support me in this task."

Chaos purred happily as she gave me the details straight into my head. I started rewinding through the gig, and it was going to be really raw, freaking nasty fight clubs, hard as fuck, and oh, how I knew there was going to be duplication demons. They were difficult then.

Where the split demon splits into little bits, the multiplying demon doubles up and makes a copy of itself every fucking time you hit it. Still, all the copies are destroyed when you get the original one killed, but there might be almost ten copies to fight, destroy, and get the original one killed. These were some of the new demons that the fight clubs had. Oh, the universe got pissed off sometimes, but there's always something to be saved.

The chaos cat was happy and was sure she'd win their little bet. When it turned out that the Europe gig was back on, the chaos cat was determined to show the cat god that the pack he was watching hadn't changed as much as he thought. Chaos Cat decided to show that if the pack got the chance or had to be without Mimi, the pack would again forget about Mimi.

The cat god was again of the opinion that the pack had changed, and they would take care of Mimi, remember her, and help as soon as they got the chance. But they both agreed that free will would be involved, so Mimi could not say directly, but if asked, she could answer. The cat god did it that way. Mimi would always respond according to the parameters that he had set for this little bet.

Mimi would not ask for help, but if it were offered, it would be Mimi's decision whether to accept it or not. Chaos was sure that Mimi's refusal would be respected, and she knew this so well that Mimi would try to do without her pack and protect it. On the other hand, the cat god believed that the entire pack had changed and Damon would not respect Mimi's refusal.

If the cat god won, he could do whatever he wanted to the chaos cat, who would then have to live in the cat god's castle for six months. If Chaos Cat won, she would get six months of guaranteed freedom. Only time would tell which one of them was the winner, and it was just their way to keep themselves entertained. To use everyone like pawns in play and have fun, to see what would happen. There was no consideration of true love or feelings of their pawns.
