Massacre I

-Flashback, continued-

Months have passed as the school year came to an end.

Many couples roamed the halls, hand in hand as they waited for the bell to ring.

Inside of the gymnasium sat only two people. They were at the top row of the stands, sitting next to each other.

It was none other than Eden and Alycia.

They've grown much closer in the months since that night, but unfortunately it didn't seem like things have gotten better for Alycia at home.

Eden offered her a room in his house to stay in until things have gotten better but she rejected. After reporting her parents didn't work, all he could do was be there for her until she was willing to accept his help.

It would've been great if his intimidation of her father worked, but it didn't.

Whenever Eden would threaten him, he would be scared for a few days but would go right back to his usual activities after some drinks.

Today though, it was the last day of school and he wouldn't see her for a few weeks.

He was worried about what'd happen to her so he gave her his phone number.

Now they had a line of communication.

The bell was a few minutes away from ringing when they began to grab their things before heading to the front of the school.

Eden picked up his backpack, which had a pink letter sticking out of it with a few words visible.

The only words that could be seen were:

[Sylvia…Love…To: Eden]

He kept the letter in his bag and walked with Alycia.

One semi positive outcome from his threats is that her father now arrived earlier.

Usually he kept his window wound up and didn't look at Eden, but today he had it down and stared at him mockingly.

Smiling, Eden walked up to the window to see what made him so confident.

"How are you? Too much alcohol is bad for your health, you know?" Her father, Cilas, was angered by the words but kept the same expression.

"Hmph. Some brat who doesn't even have hair down there, trying to be cool to impress my daughter! Ha, you don't even have a chance, kid, everything's been decided!"

Hearing his words made Eden confused but before he could respond, Cilas drove away with haste.

The bad feeling grew as he made his way home.

~

Cilas drove home, occasionally glancing in the rearview mirror.

"Listen girl; I don't want you around that boy anymore. He's disrespectful and turning you disobedient!" Cilas ordered.

Alycia barely heard him, her thoughts only on Eden as that is what kept her happy in this environment.

She lazily turned her head towards the mirror before responding.

"No."

Cilas grew angrier as he gripped the steering wheel, his eyes no longer on the road as he swerved.

"You will stay away from him if you know what's good for you! Mr. Teras won't like you being so close to another man!"

Hearing her father's words caused Alycia to break out into a cold sweat.

She knew the name, he was the richest person in the city, and more importantly she knew the rumors behind him.

He would use his immense wealth to make poor families sell their attractive daughters or wives to him, and he'd treat them as his playthings until he got bored.

Consent and age mattered not to the man as he knew no bounds.

Once he was bored, he'd make his money back by placing them in brothels.

His actions were well known, but seemingly nobody cared.

Hearing his name come up meant one thing: they were his next target.

"Father…please…no! You know what he'll do to me!" Alycia pleaded, hoping her father had even an ounce of familial affection for her, or at least some human decency.

But instead she received ridicule.

"So what? Are you saying we don't deserve money? After we've taken care of you so much, you won't repay us even a little?! Mr. Teras is already at the house."

Hearing this, despair set in as she reached for the door handle, only—

*rattle* *rattle*

The door wouldn't open as Alycia began crying.

"Good thing your mother told me to put the child safety lock on. God, why are you being so difficult right now? It's all that damned kids fault!"

Hearing her father's words, the figure of Eden came to her mind.

She didn't want to call him and get him in trouble with the richest person in the city, but she had a plan.

She roughly knew where his house was, if she could escape before she entered her house she could make it there.

Silently scrolling, she found his contact information and called him, turning the volume down before placing the phone in her father's blind spot.

"Father…please don't do this!" Seeing the call connected, she spoke.

"This again? I'm not upsetting Mr. Teras for you. Look, If you're gonna off yourself, do it after we've gotten the money at least."

Hearing his words just made her even colder. She could see her house coming up as the car turned into the driveway.

In the driveway sat a black suv with tinted windows. One guard sat by the car and two stood at the door to the house.

As they pulled in, Alycia prepared herself to run away.

Cilas opened the door and she stepped out, searching for the right opportunity to run away.

She made sure to grab her phone, not knowing whether or not Eden was still on the line.

They reached the door and the guard started to do a body search on her father. Seizing this opportunity, she turned and ran in the opposite direction.

There weren't any guards, only a straight shot to a wooded area.

Alycia knew it wasn't a good idea but fear had already taken over and she made a break for it.

She heard the shouts of Cilas behind her but he was a heavy drinker and overweight, he couldn't catch up to her.

The guards didn't make any effort in chasing her either since she hadn't been 'bought' yet.

Thinking it was about to be okay, she saw the door on the side of the house swing in in open and a large man come bolting towards her.

Recognizing instantly it was her uncle, her body seized with fear for a second before resuming its sprint in a different direction.

It was too late though, her uncle wasn't nearly as out of shape as her father and their distance was shorter.

Paired with her short freeze, he caught up with her and grabbed her by the hair.

Alycia fell to the floor and screamed, hoping a neighbor would come help her.

She could see the sweet old lady next door looking out the window at them before turning around.

She thought she would go call the police but she heard her uncle laugh.

"Scream all you want, Mr. Tera's had the foresight to pay the neighbors to mind their business. Nobody will hear you." Came his calm voice as he dragged her inside. The chilling news stopping her screams.

The neighbors she once thought were nice people had turned their backs on her.

Her mother who came outside, slapped her uncle and told him to be more careful with the 'merchandise'.

The world began to turn dark as she realized it was over. Her eyes dulled at the thought of her fate.

She was dragged inside and sat next to her mother as the man seated at the table eyed her.

"Hmm. You're right, Silas, she is quite the beauty. All right, $10,000 it is." Mr. Teras shook hands with her uncle before his guard handed him a briefcase full of money.

Silas moved away from Teras and walked to his brother, Cilas, to split the money with him.

"Damn it, I didn't even get a chance to taste her yet! You promised!" Silas was whispering to his brother but Alycia could hear them.

"What? I gave you the perfect opportunity, how'd you let her escape you? She wouldn't shut up about it for years!" Cilas spoke.

Alycia didn't even have a reaction anymore, her life was already over.

"Whatever. Once he gets bored of her, she'll be in a brothel right? I'll use this money to visit her there." Silas looked at the money in his hand and showed a toothy grin.

"Alright, I'll be taking her and leaving here soo-"

*BANG*

Before Teras could finish his sentence a hole was blown through the wall as three small piles flew in.

Everyone except Alycia looked at the three piles confusedly before immediately vomiting after coming to a realization.

The three piles were a mess of colors, from pink to red and even black.

Looking closer one could see the remains of a human face in the mangled mess on the floor.

"Oh god…is that…BLEEGGH"

Mr. Teras knew most of all, it was the bodies of his three most loyal guards.

"Who dares!" He shouted at the door as a figure was slowly walking towards them.

Each step the figure took felt like a mountain weighed down on them.

"They were in my way. Now, where's Alycia?"
