Yeah, don't make it stronger than them. A great personality doesn't mean she has to be the strongest person in the room. We have characters like this (Shikamaru, Kakashi, Gaara...), because it makes no sense to the story. Naruto and Sasuke are supposed to be the most powerful ninja in history and the embodiment of a demigod. We know that the original Sakura was indeed one of the most powerful shinobi of her time, but this was never shown in the original story and we never saw the benefits of her intelligence and strength.
