"We managed to resuscitate Mr. Haas when his heart stopped beating the last time," the doctor began, his tone grim with suspense. "When his heart started beating again, he woke up but he failed to demonstrate an appropriate level of responsiveness. Suspecting cerebral hypoxia, we performed some tests to analyze his brain function."

Maximilian traced the lines of Julian's slumbering face. Though peaceful, a hint of hidden tension lingered in the omega's features, a wrinkle between the brows betraying a disquiet even sleep couldn't fully erase.
