Before the bet, Irene was sure she could stay sober and ask Sebastian all the important things on her mind. Unfortunately, she could only ask him useless questions as her brain became foggy because of the alcohol.
"Do you like eating candies?" asked Irene as she chewed on the lemon candy Sebastian had given her.
"Not really, but sugar is good to stimulate my brain." Sebastian gave Irene another piece of candy. "I guess you like candy more than me."
Irene immediately opened the candy wrapper. "Besides money, I also like sweets." she opened her mouth widely, showing her white teeth to Sebastian. "See? I have a sweet tooth."
"Oh, that's why you look as sweet as candy," teased him. "Another question?"
Irene furrowed her brow, looking like she was deep in thought. Apparently, she was trying to remember what question she wanted to ask before this, but the alcohol made Irene unable to remember anything.
She looked at Sebastian from the bottom to the top before asking, "How tall are you?"
Sebastian couldn't hold his laughter as her question became more and more useless. "Around 1.90 meters. Why do you want to know?"
"No wonder you look so tall when we stand side by side." Irene confessed, "I also like a tall-handsome man. Mr. Delacroix, your appearance is really my type."
Compared to her ex-boyfriend, Sebastian was ten times more handsome. Irene never even tired of looking at his face and sometimes imagined how it would feel to be embraced by his muscular body.
When her mind began to imagine inappropriate images, she let her intrusive thoughts win. "Can I hug you? Just once is enough."
Irene stood up from her chair and trudged toward Sebastian. But after only two steps, she tripped over her own feet.
Irene lost her balance and almost fell to the floor if Sebastian hadn't caught her as quickly as he could. He knelt on the floor and supported Irene's body, which had lost its strength.
"Alright, I think it's time for us to return to our room," said Sebastian. Although he still enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere, he didn't want Irene to get hurt in that place.
Irene shook her head quickly. She clung to the table as Sebastian tried to carry her. "I still want to drink! I'm not drunk yet!"
"Didn't you say you couldn't drink anymore?" reminded Sebastian.
"I'm already wasted, so it's not a problem if I drink one bottle." Irene hugged the wine bottle as if it were her most precious possession.
Her words amused Sebastian. Although alcohol had taken control of her mind, her logic still functioned well. "No. Put that bottle down. I can't let you drink anymore."
"Why not?" Irene was pouting. She sulked at Sebastian because he wouldn't let her bring the wine bottle.
"Your stomach will get sick if you drink more alcohol. Look at you. You can't even stand up straight!"
"I can!" Irene swatted Sebastian's hand away, then tried to stand on her own feet. However, a few seconds later, her body immediately fell backward.
Sebastian hurriedly caught her body and kept her head from hitting the wall. It was then that he regretted getting Irene drunk. Had he not been so careful, Irene might have been seriously injured.
"Come on, let's go back to our room." Sebastian grabbed the wine bottle and then carried Irene's body.
She wiggled her legs and pushed Sebastian's chest when he brought her out of the restaurant. "Let me go! Help! Help! Someone is trying to kidnap me!"
Her shout drew everyone's attention. Sebastian covered Irene's mouth with his hand and then showed his friendly smile to the people around them. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience. My wife can't recognize her own husband whenever she is drunk."
Fortunately, Sebastian's appearance reflected that of a wealthy young master, so he was not easily suspected of being a kidnapper. The waiter offered to help Sebastian, but he politely declined, saying he could take care of his wife on his own.
As he got into the elevator, Irene managed to slap Sebastian's hand away from her mouth. "I'm not your wife!"
"But you will." Sebastian held Irene's body tighter so she wouldn't fall.
Irene looked at Sebastian's side profile and suddenly touched his face. Her fingers moved slowly over Sebastian's forehead, nose, cheeks, and lips as if she wanted to make sure that the man in front of her was not a mannequin.
"Hey, handsome, are you really a human?" wondered Irene.
Sebastian giggled. "I am."
Irene asked a bold question, "Can I kiss your handsome face?"
"I'm sorry, what?" He almost dropped her body in shock. A few hours ago, Irene had protested that she did not want to sleep in the same room, but now she wanted to kiss him.
Even Sebastian had no idea which of Irene's words were true and which ones were not.
"Come on, just one kiss." Irene touched Sebastian's lips several times, making him gulp. With a face that was both beautiful and adorable like that, what man could resist her temptation?
"No. You might get angry with me tomorrow if I kiss you when you are drunk," Sebastian answered firmly.
When the elevator stopped at their floor, Sebastian regretted even more that he had rented only one room for them. At first, he just wanted to tease Irene and annoy her, but he swallowed his own bad deed instead.
Irene pulled on Sebastian's neck as he put her on the bed. If his hands had not supported his body, he would have fallen on Irene. But the woman beneath him looked disappointed that she could not make him fall.
"How can I be angry for kissing a handsome man?" Irene pursed her lips. "Please, just one kiss. My lips are lonely."
"Didn't you just break up with your ex-boyfriend a few days ago?"
She clicked her tongue. "Don't talk about that ugly bastard anymore! He doesn't even want to kiss me!"
During his three years of dating Daniel, he rarely kissed Irene, even looking as if he wanted to avoid kissing her. Whenever he refused Irene's kisses, Daniel would say he wasn't in the mood, or he was too tired and just wanted to rest.
However, after learning about Daniel's rotten true self, Irene finally realized that he didn't want to kiss her because he was disgusted with her.
For three years, Irene only got empty kisses without love, making her feel so miserable and lonely.
"What about you, handsome man? Don't you want to kiss me either?" Irene's eyebrows dropped, and she pouted her mouth. She looked so disappointed and humiliated that the men always rejected her kisses. "Am I never good enough?"
Sebastian felt bad when he saw that pretty face filled with tears. "Who said you weren't good enough?"
"Everyone." Irene wrapped her arms around Sebastian's neck, pulling the man closer so that she could feel his breath brush against her skin. "My father, my ugly ex, even you."
"Hey, I've never said that." Sebastian said, "You're more than enough for me."
"Then why don't you kiss me?" Irene sulked again. She even didn't want to let Sebastian go before he kissed her.
Sebastian let out a heavy sigh several times. His gray eyes began to watch Irene's red plumpy lips, which looked so tempting that he struggled to refrain himself. "I want to kiss you, but I don't know what would happen to us after that."
"It's just a kiss. What bad thing could happen just from kissing once?" asked Irene.
"You're right." Sebastian grinned from ear to ear. "Nothing bad will happen just by one kiss, right?"
