Chapter 62 :- Is Chu Feng Mentally Unstable?

The mutant wolf dog, a creature under Lu Yu's control, stood tall at one and a half meters from the ground, with a length exceeding two meters.

When considering the height of the dog's head, it was even taller than Yan Yun. The speed at which this colossal bulldog ran was so fast it bordered on the ridiculous.

Upon seeing the mutant dog, Chu Feng immediately recognized that Lu Yu had returned. He had always known that Lu Yu wouldn't let him go, but he had no other options. Lu Yu and his subordinates had left the dormitory buildings under the pretext of searching for food.

Chung Feng and his team were the only ones left with any food. If they wanted to survive, they had to eliminate the surrounding monsters as quickly as possible. Otherwise, they would be besieged by the survivors.

Once a person is driven to extreme hunger, there's no telling what they might do. Chu Feng understood this all too well.

As for distributing food to the other survivors to delay the conflict, that was out of the question.

Lu Yu had saved many survivors, but how long would his food last them?

If they gave away their own food, none of them would be able to leave the school alive. Even if Lu Yu turned around, they would still be doomed.

His only aspiration was to carve a path out of the school before Lu Yu's return. However, the monstrous creatures that roamed the premises were not something that could be eradicated within a day or two.

Consequently, he found himself encircled by survivors.

Mercy was a concept that didn't even cross his mind.

In apocalyptic times, every situation was a matter of life and death. Once engaged in combat, it was a fight to the finish - either he would perish, or his opponent would. He was prepared to put everything on the line.

Upon sighting the colossal mutant dog, the silhouettes of Lu Yu and Xiao Jin gradually materialized behind it.

This sight left Li Wanning in a state of shock. She hadn't anticipated Lu Yu's appearance at this juncture.

During this period, all the survivors took refuge in the lower levels of Chu Feng's dormitory. Due to their vantage point, they were unable to observe the events unfolding on Lu Yu's end.

Even Chu Feng was only aware of Lu Yu's general whereabouts. Hence, Lu Yu's sudden appearance took her by surprise.

"Am I too late?

Teacher Li… What's happening?"

Lu Yu inquired, casting a sidelong glance at Li Wanning and Shen Bin upon hearing Li Wanning's voice.

He was naturally inclined to oversee the scenario he had orchestrated from start to finish.

His primary objective was to eliminate Chu Feng, not to scavenge for food. Therefore, he didn't venture too far from the starting point.

He positioned himself on the top floor of the dormitory, which provided him with a partial view of the first-floor corridor.

Shi Lei abstained from participating in the battle. Instead, he found a spot by the window to rest and utilized his eagle-eyed vision to keep a watchful eye on the situation for Lu Yu throughout the day.

Upon detecting a conflict, he promptly alerted Lu Yu.

Lu Yu, accompanied by his two pets, embarked on a mission to find the safest route to eliminate Chu Feng. The sight of over a dozen fresh corpses strewn across the ground confirmed to Lu Yu that his plan had been successful.

And upon witnessing Shen Bin's severe injuries, he felt a sense of accomplishment, as the outcome had surpassed his initial expectations.

A few evenings prior, he had led his team towards the main entrance, where a clear path lay in the middle.

However, as night fell, this path would be frequented by wandering monsters, effectively blocking the road. While these scattered monsters posed little threat to him and Chu Feng, they were lethal to the other survivors.

When the road was blocked by these monsters, the other survivors had no choice but to approach Chu Feng for sustenance if they wished to survive.

This inevitably led to a conflict between the two parties, an outcome that Lu Yu had anticipated and desired.

As long as there were casualties, Lu Yu felt justified in intervening.

However, his plan did not account for Shen Bin being assaulted. Shen Bin's current state could likely be attributed to his villain armor attribute.

Li Wanning, in a state of mental disarray, succinctly explained the situation,

"Chu Feng is unwilling to provide food…and also…also…"

Upon Lu Yu's return, she instinctively viewed him as a pillar of support. As she spoke, she felt a strong urge to cry. However, due to prolonged water scarcity, even tears had become a luxury for her.

"Those people were all killed by him?" he asked.

Removing her glasses and rubbing her reddened eyes, Li Wanning nodded in affirmation.

Lu Yu, observing Chu Feng in the field, couldn't help but sneer,

"Chu Feng, how ruthless are you?

You hacked to death our so many classmates at once?"

Lu Yu looked at Chu Feng on the battlefield, a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth.

The direction Lu Yu had come from was the same direction Chu Feng had come from. To avoid Lu Yu, Chu Feng had no choice but to head towards the back door.

There were numerous monsters drawn by the black car at the back door.

It would take more than a few days to clear them out. This was one of the key factors contributing to the success of Lu Yu's plan.

Currently, the battlefield between Chu Feng and Wei Jianjun was located in the corridor directly opposite Qiao Manli's dormitory. Chu Feng was sandwiched between a man and a dog. Neither party made a move, but they were in a standoff.

"Ruthless?

No matter how ruthless I am, I can't compare to you!"

Chu Feng, with an ax in hand and in a defensive stance, retorted,

"With your strength, you could have easily led them out of here, but you left without a word?

You bear at least half the responsibility for their deaths."

"Hahaha, such lofty justifications!

You're truly… Never mind,

I can't be bothered to argue with you!"

Lu Yu scoffed, turning his gaze towards Chu Feng's teammates.

"Wang Chao, what's your take on this?"

Being classmates, Lu Yu was familiar with Wang Chao. The group stood still, and Lu Yu had no intention of launching an unprovoked attack.

As Lu Yu spoke, Chu Feng, while keeping an eye on Wei Jianjun and the mutant dog, stole a glance at his four teammates.

The response he received was wholly unexpected.

A boy hastily responded,

"Master Lu, we have no part in this!"

Wang Chao simply echoed,

"Yes, Master Lu, we were merely defending ourselves.

We didn't kill them."

"Everyone was killed by Chu Feng!"

"Hahahaha!"

Chu Feng laughed unexpectedly,

"What a cold world! Wang Chao,

Mao Nian!

I saved you once, is this how you repay your savior?"

"No, Chu Feng, we just think you've gone a bit too far!"

"Yes! Chu Feng,

you…"

"Enough!"

Before they could finish, Chu Feng cut them off,

"You're just scared that Lu Yu, being so powerful, will target you too, aren't you?

I get it…you don't need to come up with other excuses!"

"Chu Feng, I honestly think you've crossed a line!"

Dai Lian, who had been silent till now, finally spoke up,

"Those classmates…you could have avoided killing them…"

"Dai Lian?

Even you're blaming me?

They didn't hesitate when they wanted to rob us of our food!"

Dai Lian's words undeniably shattered Chu Feng's defenses.

After all, they had faced life and death together, hadn't they?

"They attacked us because we didn't give them food. Everyone's just trying to survive.

It's not about who's right or wrong!

But we're strong… Couldn't we have just knocked them out?"

Dai Lian retorted.

"Knock…out?"

hahahaha!

Chu Feng was taken aback at first, then laughed scornfully.

Such words were foreign to him!

So many survivors were desperate for their food earlier, and they were supposed to just knock them unconscious?

That's a joke!

Anyone who's lived through the real end times would know better.

In the dire times of survival, taking someone's food is akin to murdering their parents or abducting their loved ones!

For such individuals, even death ten times over seems insufficient, yet they remain unscathed?

However, the situation has escalated to a point where words are futile.

Lu Yu, the scoundrel, had meticulously planned everything before his departure.

Unless he decides to distribute food to the survivors, rally them to the school's main gate, and confront monsters, there's no way out.

But can he persuade these survivors?

No!

They are deeply indebted to Lu Yu and harbor only resentment towards Chu Feng.

Is there food near the school's main entrance?

No!

Although there's some outside the school gate, it's also teeming with monsters. Leading these survivors on a foodless journey is akin to marching towards death.

Chu Feng, seething with anger, managed to grit out a single word,

"Asshole…"

He then turned to his teammates, his eyes filled with frustration,

"Can't you see that all of this has been orchestrated by Lu Yu?"

His words fell on deaf ears. Not only did his teammates fail to see his point, but they also responded with furrowed brows, indicating their confusion and disbelief.

"Chu Feng, are you losing your mind?"

one of them asked, clearly taken aback by his accusations.

"You're the one who committed the murders, yet you're blaming it on Young Master Lu?

"How does this reasoning make sense?" questioned one team member.

Another added, "Assuming that Young Master Lu orchestrated everything, he still ended up rescuing numerous individuals.

If his intention was to harm them, why would he bother saving them in the first place?"

Amidst the rising clamor, Lu Yu turned his attention towards Wang Chao and the rest of the group.

"If you're not prepared to act, then step aside. This guy, Chu Feng, seems to have lost his mind!"

The teammates responded in unison,

"Alright, Young Master Lu!"

"Lu Shao, we'll step aside now!"

Chu Feng, however, was far from done. He spat out a venomous threat,

"Fuck! "Fuck! "Fuck!

Lu Yu! I'll kill you.

"You'll have to get through me first, lad!" Wei Jianjun retorted.

"Wei Jianjun, step aside!"

"Hei Shuai, attack!" Lu Yu said.
