As it turned out, there were a few different methods that could have been done to us without our knowledge, but in all cases, the soul's binding would manifest as a curse, and could be broken like a curse. In fact, most of the book was devoted to such curse-breaking methods.

Shokoya shut the book. "Well, I think that's all we can really get right now. I'm not convinced we're not—after all, it was the Dimension Governors who gave us our Systems."

I nodded. "The thing to do will be to investigate the System itself, and we can't do that until we can learn enough about Systems to jailbreak ours. And that probably won't be the case until we reach higher Heavens."

"I agree. So yeah, let's try not to die until then. I'll try extra hard, haha. Now, how about that bookstore?"
