You’re Avoiding Me. Why?

Jules' pov

"You've really been avoiding me, Jules."

My mouth opened and closed. I felt like a fish left out of water. Kai had an unreadable expression over his face as he stared down at me.

I puffed out a long breath and shoved my hands into my pockets as I finally responded.

"I- I'm not." I responded and he scoffed, not bothering to pretend like he believed me. He was dressed in a hoodie and as usual, the cape casted a shadow over the top of his face.

He gave me a long look, like he was trying to read me like a book.

"You don't need to lie to me, Jules. I can tell you're avoiding me. My question is… why?" He continued after a few seconds and I sighed while silently cursing my luck for making me run into him right now.

"I'm not avoiding you, Kai." I breathed out in response. This time, he arched a brow as he looked me up and down once again.
