It was the use of the word we which pleased him more than anything else. She lumped them together as one, making his battle hers. She had no plans to run just because things were difficult. 

He couldn't help comparing her to Lai Yanfang and wishing that he had met her sooner.

"Mmm, honey, i am fully on board with getting rid of her but we have a small problem. Our people have found out that there is something weird going on around her." 

"The suicides." Alix said softly.

Caishen nodded. Then, his head popped up and he looked at her questioningly. 

"How?"

"I have been investigating her as well ever since...." she stopped talking and bent her head slightly. It had almost slipped out of her mouth that she had been investigating his ex for a while, far longer than the time when she met him.
