Chapter 41.5 - Battle

He wiped his left eye.

The cut over his brow, was bleeding profusely enough to blind it.

His healing factor, was not great enough, to heal the wound, not in this moment, as he looked up at the formation that was baring down on him.

It felt as though he was a rat in a maze.

His lip curved slightly.

His jade eyes flickered vibrantly.

No matter how flawed it was, a part of him was excited. Excited that he could face even a fraction of what his ancestors had faced.

The idea that he now stood on a similar stage, invigorated him.

He wove prayers in the Macuahuitls movements, giving thanks that the blood it would spill, was of such a luxurious prey.

His teeth glimmered, despite the blood.

Murphy looked down at the savage, that had broken through his formation twice, and was nearing the breaking point of his magic formation.

He had never met anyone, who could break his Four Lock Spell.

And yet, this savage was not solving a thing, simply blowing down each obstacle, seemingly growing stronger as the battle continued to rage.

How?

How was this poisoned savage drawing strength?

He merely turned his head to the Second Gate.

The winds of magic were scouring forward from them.

A slight curve developed on his lip.

"Though things have taken a rather unexpected turn, it seems everyone has arrived." He turned his sight to the opposite direction, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Being given the greatest task, they had failed their nation and their own dreams. His mages had been devastated.

The Undead were broken and battered.

The Hero was nowhere to be found, and there was no trace of her, either.

Though, he knew from the sword marks, and the lingering aura, that it had been him.

He was not surprised, as the shadows underneath him began to move and peel off the ground...

It was expected that someone who could remind him of even the edge of the Dumbaran Knights, would not simply abandon their comrades.

It was within his expectations.

Though it was a shame, he had prepared for this.

The shadows scattered…

Murphy looked down at the savage who appeared like two, a second image rising from his flesh, like armor, it had broken another lock.

But it didn't matter.

…They would not easily get away.

Good evening.

It's quite the day.

Life is an arduous task, akin to carving stone.

Clumsy, Experienced, Masterful, the hammer drops all the same.

Please, take time to give the carvings that are our world, a good look.

The reward is yours to claim.

Thank you for your support, and as always,

Enjoy.
