Tai, Nikolah, and Claire sat together, huddled in a cave.
The Obsidian Dragon was not too far behind, as Tai could hear the wind created by it's mighty wings and feel the steam coming from it's hot breath.
Anyways, now that the red haired teenager had filled them all in on the status of the island, it was finally time to kill the damned dragon.
Standing, Nikolah smiled slightly.
"Let's go kill a dragon, then."

Immediately Nikolah had stept out of the cave, the black dragon shot out a stream of white hot black flames.
However, the blue haired ice queen was prepared. Running through the burning inferno, she used her ice powers to shield herself from the immolating heat.
She was swift enough to save her skin from the black flames spreading around the cave, but nothing would save her as the Dragon flew above her and opened it's maw.
However, that was where Claire would come to play.
The speech impaired blonde girl dived out of the cave, narrowly missing the black flames, and threw a small smooth stone towards the eye of the massive beast.
Now, if an ordinary person were to throw a stone at a dragon, nothing would happen. Heck, one wouldn't even be able to survive the bloodlust emanating from the dragon alone.
However, an energy core greatly enhanced the capabilities of a person, so Claire was much stronger than an ordinary person despite her small frame.
Tai, Nikki, and Claire all watched the small stone fly with held breaths. The success of their plan depended on the stone hitting the dragon, after all.
The stone flew slowly, then hit the beast squarely on it's left eye, making the beast bat an eyelid.
It was not hurt in the slightest, but hurting the dragon was not part of the plan.
They were going to kill it.
As soon as the beast closed it's eye, Tai dashed out of the cave with frightening speed.
A split second later, and a river of black flames consumed the small cave, turning it into molten lava.
Cursing, Tai dodged a few flames here and there, and dove towards the massive beast.
For two years, Tai had died at it's hands. For two years, he had seen it claim the lives of Nikolah and Claire.
It was now his turn.
Still running, Tai desperately tried to summon the Obsidian Sword.
However, no matter how hard he tried, he could not call forth the jet black weapon.
The Obsidian Sword was a mysterious summon, after all. It had been absorbed by his soul without him calling it's true name, nor drawing a rune. Not like he could even draw runes back then.
The sword had belonged to Fate, a being with the power to twist the tapestry of fate, and contained the soul of an ancient sorcerer.
Mundane weapons could barely piece the dragon's black scales, this he had learnt from bitter experience, but who was to say that a daemon level weapon could not.
If the Obsidian Sword had saved his life once, why wouldn't it do so again?
As Tai had successfully boarded the dragon, it was time for Nikki to act.
She created a sword with the ice out of her palms and clutched the swinging tail of the mighty beast.
She was not meant to hold it down, but to slow it instead.
She stabbed the sword into the jet black tail, breaking the tip and closed her eyes. White mist surrounded her and the tail, then her hair turned snow white as frost began creeping up the enormous dragon.
However, the beast would not just stay and let itself get frozen.
With a mighty roar, it dove into the skies in a flash. Tai had expected this, so he had also thought of a suitable counter.
As the beast took into the skies with Tai on it's back and Nikolah on it's tail, Claire streched.
This was her cue.
As the immolating flames had died down a bit, Claire ran back towards the hill they had come from.
Tai had discovered that the dragon was guarding the hill. Why? Because it had spent thousands of years gathering gold under it.
That hill was actually a stack of gold, well concealed with sand and dirt. That was what Claire had meant by a hill of gold.
Seeing someone run towards it's gold stack, the beast completely forgot about the two people on it's body, one slowly creeping up to its head, and another freezing it from it's tail.
All it cared about was it's gold.
However, the beast never got to get to the hill as Nikolah's ice had numbed it's wings and it began to crash to the ground.
Claire was in the direct area of impact, but she did not mind.
What she had to do was crucial to their success as the beast had to be focused on her.
She could not achieve this if she wasn't on it's pile of gold. However, the dragon realized it was crashing and began to use it's flames to negate Nikolah's ice.
But the beast never got to free itself, as Tai had successfully reached the top of it's head.
With a dark smirk, the red haired boy lifter up his empty hands, and plunged his arms into the head of the dragon.
Luckily, the Obsidian Sword had appeared, saving him from crushing his arms on the obsidian scales as the dragon fell to the ground with a mighty thud.
The mighty beast was dead.
Lucky Tai, my greatest fantasy had always been to fight a dragon.
Now I'm stuck in a dark gloomy room writing, while he gets to battle the dragon.
It's so unfair! :'(
