Stretching, the red haired boy put on a shirt and walked out of the room.

"Good evening, Nikolah."

He waved to the blue haired girl.

Nikolah raised a brow.

"Tai, it's nine o clock in the eve... Oh, you're right, good evening."

Tai knew the exact things that would happen today, and of he could help it, then he would do his best to avoid meeting with the ferocious dragon at all costs. However, Tai himself knew that time could not be tempered with.

What would happen would surely happen, and what would not happen would not happen. Changing what was supposed to happen, was actually changing nothing as the change itself was meant to happen.

How confusing.

This was probably how Protectors would conquer a Flashback without changing anything in the future, except for the beast spawned from the flashback itself, though.

Tai spent the rest of the next day slaying mundane level beasts and gloating about his sorcery, by evening he was extremely bored and chose to sit on the wooden deck of the majestic flying ship.

He knew that Claire would come and could have avoided the deck the whole day, but the red haired teenager was trying to search for a solution that would help them to survive.

He could not bear the fact that his survival would rely on a Time Storm that could end at any moment.

What if it ended as soon as he died again?

Taking a deep sigh, he decided to enjoy the few ten to thirty minutes he had left before he would have to face the dragon again. What would he do against a dragon? He himself had no idea.

But what he DID know, was that he would succeed against the dragon one way or another. If he had lived

this long in his cursed life, then Black Nest Island would just be added to the list of things fate had tried to kill him with.

The deck door creaked open as a blonde teenage girl with blue eyes walked out of the ship. Claire had come.

Tai smiled half heartedly at her and waved. "Hey."

Claire smiled back and nodded.

Then they sat in idle silence for a few minutes. Tai knew that she would soon go into a trance, so he decided to ask her how she could resist the possession. However, as the red haired teenager opened his mouth to speak, Claire suddenly started to twitch.

Tai sighed, he was a second too late.

"Nikolah, come over, we need to take Claire to the highest point on the island."

He would have been shocked or scared on a usual day, but he already knew what was to come.

That was one advantage he had over the obsidian dragon.

The red haired teenager began counting, "three...", "two...", "one..." And then the blonde girl began to twitch, making Tai smirk darkly.

"Right on time."

Like before, Claire began screaming.

"THREE FOOLS LAY DEAD IN ASHES ON A HILL OF GOLD, ONE IN SEARCH Of VANITY AND ANOTHER IN SEARCH OF GLORY."

"THREE FOOLS LAY DEAD IN ASHES ON A HILL OF GOLD, ONE IN SEARCH Of VANITY AND ANOTHER IN SEARCH OF GLORY."

But Tai paid her no attention.

Instead, the red haired teenager was busy contemplating.

'Why am I the only one who knows about the time loop?'

'Why can't Nikolah and Claire see it too?'

In an instant, Nikolah had appeared, seemingly out of nowhere.

She must have been very close by.

Her face paled a bit when she looked at the spasming Claire and she opened her mouth.

"We have to get her to the highest point on the island!"

Like before, Tai found himself carrying Claire's body to the tall hill, but unlike before, he was prepared. This time, he would make sure that they all escaped.

The influence of a Time Storm only spanned across a few kilometers from it's starting point, a few metres after that, everything would be completely normal.

This meant that Tai and cohort would have to leave the island as soon as possible. He would just wait till Claire came to, then the three of them would quickly leave before they perished. The only problem relied on the probability that they were all fast enough to escape a dragon.

Having an energy core greatly improved one's body. If you were weak, you would become much stronger, if you were strong, you would become superhuman.

Tai believed in Nikolah's ability to run faster than the black dragon , but what about him and Claire?

"Guess we'll find out."
