Chapter 346: Star-Lord, Your Dad Exploded!

Slaying Gods!?

This term carries various meanings within the Marvel Universe.

For an Earthling, slaying an Asgardian deity, such as if someone were to kill Sif, would count as godslaying.

Higher up, killing a powerful Asgardian god like Thor also qualifies.

Or, as a mortal, to slay any Titan-class master, even leaving a minor wound on Thanos's face, could be touted as matching gods as a mortal.

And Daisy knows well that when Clark talks about "slaying a god," he means slaying a celestial being—like Igneel!

Had it been any other celestial deity, even one as formidable as those from the Celestial Order, Daisy might not pose a lethal threat. But Igneel is different. As a living planet, his strengths and weaknesses are clear. The Guardians of the Galaxy managed to best him with just a timed bomb in the movies. For Daisy, whose abilities naturally counter such massive foes, it's even more straightforward.

While dealing with endless divine tendrils, Daisy excitedly says, "Taking down a vile cosmic deity? Of course, I have no qualms about it. But there are just too many tendrils here, I might not have enough energy left to strike him fatally."

Just then, a blaze of sword light cuts through, carving a path through the overwhelming tendrils straight to Daisy.

Following this, the sword light transforms dramatically into a grand red cloak, which drapes over her.

With the cloak fluttering amidst the gales raised by the tendrils, Daisy appears as a goddess descending from the heavens.

Knowing that Clark has lent her his protective artifact, Daisy's spirits lift. Without hesitation, her hands part to each side, and a powerful shockwave bursts forth from her palms, drilling directly towards the planet's crust.

Seeing Daisy daring to attack his core, Igneel panics. Energies rush from all around, aiming not to crush her outright but at least to interrupt her shockwave.

However, Daisy, having utmost trust in Clark, ignores the encroaching divine tendrils and focuses solely on channeling her shockwave energy, driving wave after wave deep into the planet's core.

As expected, Clark never disappoints, and neither does this time!

Just as the divine tendrils nearly overwhelm Daisy, the Healing Sword, now a cloak, morphs into a thirteen-story tall red pagoda. The top of the pagoda, adorned with orange and green gems symbolizing the powers of Soul and Time, enhances its defense, making it nearly impregnable.

The relentless divine tendrils strike but cannot even touch the tower, as they're repelled and dispersed by the surrounding force.

Every time Clark's power levels up, he reforges his favorite weapon, especially after becoming the God of Vengeance, incorporating the laws he commands into the cloak. Now, the Healing Sword, already infused with the powers of Strength, Space, and Reality, plus Soul and Time, holds the powers of five out of six Infinity Stones.

Though without the actual stones, the first three powers don't perform perfectly in hands other than Clark's, but the combined protective forces are not something Igneel can breach quickly.

And even given more time, it might still be impossible.

Moreover, under Daisy's relentless shockwave assaults and fully merged with the planet, how long can Igneel hold on is an unknown.

Breaking through the Healing Sword's defenses would only be possible if his Phoenix avatar returns—slim chance.

As Igneel attempts to direct his Phoenix avatar back to aid himself, Clark is prepared and repels it with a punch: "No way through!"

Realizing his life is under dire threat, Igneel abandons his cautious tactics, unleashing the Phoenix avatar in a ferocious attack against Clark, who blocks the path to self-rescue.

Clark meets this attack head-on.

No fancy moves, just a straightforward clash of divine forces. For a moment, Igneel, fueled by the Phoenix Force, matches Clark.

But at this stage of the battle, the duel between Clark and the Phoenix avatar is no longer decisive. Unless Igneel can repel Clark quickly, his defeat is inevitable.

Can he do it?

Certainly not!

Even his last-ditch efforts powered by the Phoenix Force are futile. After three more minutes of frantic assault, Daisy's shockwave finally penetrates the crust and strikes directly at a brain deep within the planet's core.

"No!"

With a roar of despair, the divine power within the Phoenix avatar collapses and dissipates!

Following that, the entire planet Igneel shakes violently, on the verge of collapse.

Next moment, volcanic eruptions and cataclysmic splits occur!

After the core brain is destroyed, the planet's life ends. Daisy, the instigator, protected by the Healing Sword, shoots into the sky, using her super-speed and flight abilities to escape the atmosphere at near-light speed.

Turning back

, she sees the body of Igneel planet beginning to crack and shrink, followed by a massive explosion, erasing this sentient planet from the cosmos.

The explosion's energy wave blows even Daisy, retreating to the edge of the system, her clothes whipping in the wind.

Yet victorious Daisy looks somewhat concerned.

Without the Healing Sword's protection, can Clark truly withstand such a violent explosion?

Clark's concern isn't about testing his physical defenses against the blast; he has far more important matters to attend to.

Because, as the divine power collapses and the Phoenix Force once again loses its host, this fatally powerful force transforms back into a phoenix shape, flying towards the endless starry sky.

"You can't escape."

With a familiar voice, Clark, using the power of Space, appears directly in front of the Phoenix Force.

Seeing Clark blocking its path, the Phoenix Force splits into five, attempting to divert his attention and escape.

However, as it begins to disperse, it's instantly immobilized. Clark uses the power of Space to lock down the Phoenix Force.

Can space power lock the Phoenix Force?

No.

Clark's full-force space energy only traps the dispersed Phoenix Force for less than a tenth of a second before it breaks free.

Yet, just as the energies regain freedom and plan to flee, they're enveloped by massive divine forces, trapped completely.

While space energy can't seal the Phoenix completely, it's enough to buy time.

As vast divine forces squeeze from all directions, the split Phoenix Force struggles vainly for seconds before being utterly annihilated under a relentless, ruthless assault.

Thus, three parts of the Phoenix Force, scattered across the movie universe, are gone.

Excluding the part within Ava, only one remains unaccounted for.

Clark gestures, reabsorbing the remaining divine energy into his body, then vanishes using his space ability, taking the worried Daisy with him, and reappearing inside the Heart of Clark ship.

Receiving +999 impression points from Gamora!

Receiving from Peter Quill...

Seeing Igneel explode and then witnessing Clark and Daisy safely return, everyone finally breathes a sigh of relief.

Seeing Star-Lord, who has recovered from unconsciousness, Clark jests, "Sorry, your dad exploded."

Star-Lord, unfazed by Clark's humor, responds, "He deserved to die. He killed my mother!"

Well, to those who don't get the joke, Clark's humor is lost.

Shrugging, Clark turns to Rocket Raccoon and asks, "Now that Igneel's dealt with, what do you think about my earlier proposition? Any thoughts on joining me?"

Rocket shakes his head, "Tempting as your offer is, I don't want to leave my friends."

Is it the bond among teammates?

Clark smiles slightly, "That's easily solved. If you all join the Avengers, you wouldn't have to choose between the two. This is a sincere invitation."

Hearing Clark invite them all, the Guardians of the Galaxy hesitate.

Then, with a sly tone, Clark loudly proclaims, "Join the Avengers! Use my name and wreak havoc across the universe!"

"Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle..."

This storyline, after many revisions, is quite different from my original idea.

Originally, Igneel was to be shattered by Clark and Daisy using shockwave power, though not in this manner.

How exactly? I'll leave it to your imagination. That's a scenario I truly dare not write.
