Chapter 327: Wait for Him to Come Out, Then Kill Him!

At the Divine Quarry, Thanos and Thane, the long-lost father and son, formally met for the first time.

His fists clenched, seething energy began to radiate from Thane: "Since my birth, you have constantly sent assassins after me, even killing my mother was not enough for you, you won't rest until I am utterly annihilated!"

"Today is the day you pay the price for your actions!"

In response to Thane's accusations, Thanos merely smiled coldly and replied indifferently, "Thane, you are nothing but a joke!"

"Die!" Angered by Thanos's dismissive attitude, Thane, fueled by the Phoenix Force enveloping him, charged forward, shouting, "Thanos, die!"

Thanos met his charge with a sneer, throwing a punch, "Thane, I will kill you!"

As the cosmic-scale father and son duel escalated into a fight to the death from the outset, Mistress Death appeared nearby in her simple, austere attire, her face smiling serenely as she watched the tragic spectacle unfold.

Perhaps for Death, whether Thane kills Thanos or Thanos kills Thane, it would be a favorable outcome. Although her reasoning differs, her goals align with Clark's expectations.

What followed was a series of spectacular fights. But for Thanos and Thane, such attacks were merely appetizers.

Realizing this, Thane was overjoyed. The Phoenix Force, sensing his complex emotions of joy and rage, flared even more intensely, forming a phoenix-shaped armor of flames around him, reminiscent of his battle with Clark.

"Thanos!" With the Phoenix Force fully unleashed, Thane lost all human sentiment, driven solely by a boundless desire to kill: "Your divine power supply has been cut off, so today, you are destined to die by my hand!"

As Thane roared and charged again, the searing Phoenix flames threatened to consume everything in their path.

At that moment, the ever-watchful Tri-Witches finally intervened!

Instantly deprived of the Phoenix Force, Thane's greatest asset vanished, and he stood dumbfounded.

His raised fist froze mid-air, his mind flooded with existential questions.

However, facing a now powerless Thane, Thanos did not hold back and struck him squarely in the face, sending his still-confused son plummeting into the quarry.

"No!"

Realizing the terror of the pit, Thane cried out in despair, attempting to climb out along the Eternal Wall, but his arms sank deep into the stone. Following this, his entire body was instantly petrified.

Thane now faced the same trials as Thanos once had.

But Thanos, knowing Thane well, was certain he would not pass these tests.

For here lay everything Thane ever dreamed of, and it would also forever be his tomb.

Standing at the edge of the quarry, Thanos looked down at the petrified Thane, repeating the words he had said before the battle began.

"Thane, you are a joke!"

"Mistress Death." As the outcome became clear, Mistress Death, with a light step, approached Thanos, placing a hand on his shoulder and looking at him with a tender gaze, "Thanos, you truly have succeeded in overcoming yourself and have not disappointed me. Now, how about you serve as my emissary and execute the duties of death in my stead?"

"There is no need!" Thanos brushed off Mistress Death's hand from his shoulder, his voice cold, "I know my mission and how to complete it. I don't need someone else telling me what to do!"

"Heh heh heh..." At that moment, the Tri-Witches acted once more, forming a triangle around Mistress Death.

Seeing their approach, Mistress Death's eyebrows furrowed in annoyance, "What are you three planning?"

The Tri-Witches did not respond but instead unleashed a torrent of lightning-like energy, transporting one of the cosmic pantheon's primary figures, Mistress Death, to an unknown corner of the universe.

The Divine Quarry, with no place for the Phoenix, similarly had no place for Mistress Death. Bound by the cosmic rules, any being of a cosmic deity level could not intervene here prior to their own demise—unless they, like Thanos, had fallen from grace and come to face their trial after losing their powers.

If Mistress Death had known this, she might have chosen to leave gracefully on her own terms before the Tri-Witches made their move. Being forcibly removed like this was indeed a loss of face for her.

She hadn't taken such a fall since performing the "Paradise Dance" on Earth. As the keeper of the Infinite Well, many secrets of the universe were not hidden from Mistress Death, but she needed to actively seek them out.

After all, the universe is full of secrets, and they are ever-changing. If she attempted to grasp all these secrets, she would have to remain eternally beside the Well as a mere statue, never doing anything else.
