The real reason why Kira was surprised was because of the progress of evolution.

It took Siara nearly 7 years to evolve twice. Her first evolution happened when she was one year old and then a whole 6 years gap, only to evolve again.

It was because she was somewhat sheltered. She had a proper family who took care of her. This was the case with many other wolves who had clans, tribes, and packs behind their backs.

But for Kira, it was quite different. All alone, he fought and survived many deadly battles.

Without the aid of any system or any special reward... without any chances, without any lucky encounters... all alone - Kira kept leveling up. He kept growing stronger!

It took him 6 months to evolve for the first time.

So when he heard 4 and assumed it to be 4 months, even then he was surprised. But now, the answer was 4 days... obviously he couldn't wrap his brain around it.
