The book is written decently on a surface level, but lacks depth both in its characters and storyline. There are long-winded descriptions and excessive dialogue that don't contribute meaningfully to the plot. Despite the characters supposedly being powerful and influential, their investigative methods feel outdated and, frankly, illogical—especially in an age where technology should play a significant role.
It’s also quite apparent that the author is not culturally grounded in the setting they’ve chosen. The story tries to ride on the popularity of Chinese web novels by using Chinese character names, but the world-building and character dynamics fall short of what more seasoned authors from that genre deliver. The male lead, an Italian mafia boss with golden blonde hair and blue eyes, feels like a tired stereotype—especially considering those features are more commonly associated with Northern Europe, not Italy. The obsession with Western features comes across as superficial and misplaced.
Overall, it reads like an amateur attempt to blend popular tropes without fully understanding or respecting the nuances of the cultures it draws from.
