Chapter 11

Roman Hid behind the wall. His body ached. He was bleeding. He had been shot and he knew he was losing alot of blood.

If he didn't get any help soon he would be dead soon. He had been ambushed at a local night club where he was completing a deal for his father. Never in his wildest dreams did he think things would end up this way with him running for his life since his men were killed in cold blood.

The dark sky showed signs of lighting meaning it would rain soon. He could hear the thunder as he held his arm in pain. The coldness of the wall he was leaning on made him feel numb too. He sighs and looks at his watch 23:54.

It had been for 2 hours that he had been hiding for his life. He hated running and it made him feel like a coward but then again he knew why he had to do this, in order to survive

he felt a sudden urge to cough up blood but he tried to ignore it, he didn't want these people to know where he was.

He could hear them talking in japanese, they were talking about finding and killing him. He couldn't stay here any longer and he knew it

He made a run for it barely able to keep on his feet as he was getting light headed due to the loss of his blood being excessive.

He runs and sees a woman walking out of a night club. She was holding a trashbag. She was in her early 20s.

She was a waitress and looked exhausted.he quickly hides behind a dumpster and watches the woman. She threw the trashbag on the ground sighing heavily.

"I swear if one drug asshole touches me again. I'll fucking go crazy!"

He heard her yell out angrily.

He didn't know if she was friendly or not, but he had no choice but to try and get help. He watches her as she picks up the trash and tosses her it in the bin as he lays down there, trying to stop his bleeding, hoping she would see him.

She is about to walk away when she stops when she hears him. She turns back to where he hid. She looks behind the dumpster freezing when she saw him "Oh my God!"

He looks at her with blood stained lips and blood running down his arm and he sighs. He whispers to himself. "please let her understand what I'm saying" he tried to speak up but his voice sounded hoarse as he tried to speak, "please help me."

She runs over to him not thinking twice, she kneels down by his side and carefully checking to see where he was hurt, she sees his gun shot and cuts.

"You're hurt..."

The man is a very handsome. He has a muscular body with broad shoulders. His hair is raven black. He was tall, standing at about 6'1. He was in a suit and had a tattoo of a koi fish on his arm and he has a scar that runs from his shoulder down to his elbow.

"Oh fuck...this is bad..." She says to herself in shock.

he groaned and his body shivered as she tried to examine his wounds, he looked at her and he knew his time was almost up.

His body started to feel colder and darker, he knew he was going to die soon but he just needed to last a tad longer. He tried to speak once again.

"please...help me"

"I promise you this, you won't die here. I'll make sure of it." She helps him to stand and it is a struggle as he is pain. She puts his arm over her shoulder and starts walking,"I will get you to a hospital okay?"

"No! No hospitals!"

She looks at him shocked, "What?"

"No...hospitals."

He nods as he leans on her shoulder, letting her lead him. The pain was unbearable and he was fighting every urge to collapse and fall on the ground.

He wanted to hold in his tears and so he focused his eyes on the direction she was walking to as a distraction.

******************************

After feeling like he was dying Roman woke up again. He was still in pain it was nothing compared to how he was feeling the night of his attack.

He looks around, his body ached but he was thankful that he was alive and able to find his enemies as soon as he found them and would kill them. But more importantly he wondered how he got here, was it the woman from last night? Did she save his life? if this woman helped him then he was forever in her debt.

He looked around at his surroundings. His body was weak and it took every bit of energy for him to sit up and look around. The room was small, almost like one you'd see in an apartment. Nothing out of the ordinary aside from the color of the room. It was a bright pink floral wallpaper. He sighed and tried to move his legs.

The door opens and an old lady walks in. She was around 5ft and was African American. She had white hair and a wise looking appearance. She drops the glass of water she was carrying on a tray startled to see Roman was awake. She turns back and shouts, "Megan!!!!! Your hot guy is awake!"

Roman flinches at the sudden noise coming from the old lady and looks over at whoever she was calling. If the lady was surprised to see he was awake then it probably meant he was here for a while. As he waited for whoever she was yelling for he lay back down and closed his eyes to try and get any rest he could.

"Grandma don't shout. You'll scare him!" A beautiful woman that he recognized immediately as the waitress that saved him walked in. Her braids were in an updo as she was dressed in shorts and a large shirt covering her frame, "Oh youre awake." She said walking over to him.

A wave of relief washed over his face when he realized he was right, it was her.

The waitress who had saved his life. He tried to raise his hand up to her but he was too weak. Instead he moved his lips, "Thank...you"he closed his eyes again to try and rest. He didn't want to speak much as speaking wore him out.

"We didn't take you to a hospital. You Said you didn't want to, so grandma did the best she could cleaning your wounds."

He tried to shake his head but the movement was small as he was still weak. He looked around the room and he saw the walls covered in drawings of anime characters. The room seemed like it belonged to a teenage girl so he knew the grandma must have taken care of a teenager.

"Don't worry...I'm...grateful." he looked back at her and he tried to smile but he could hardly manage a slight grin.

She moves closer, do you perhaps remember your name? I'm Megan."

He nodded his head slightly "Roman, thats my name." "Can you...tell me where I am?"

"You're in the Bronx..."

He nods again and he thought for a moment. "You saved my life, I can't thank you enough" he felt his eyes start to get heavier and he tried to keep them open longer.

She cautiously touched his head patting it gently, "You can sleep it's okay...rest."

he smiled a little as she pat his head. Her touch was comforting and he felt at ease. Without realising his eyes had started to become heavier again. The room started to go blurry and his eyelids slowly closed. He sighed and let the exhaustion and pain overtake him.
