It was suspiciously silent in the office when we returned.
"Lex didn't come to bother you?" I asked Emily as I stood in front of her table, my husband safely hidden inside my office.
"Nope," she said, shaking her head.
Odd.
Lex was the biggest gossip I knew and it was made a hundred times worse by the fact that he actually had the ability to get the gossip he wanted.
"Alright, I'll be in my office if you need me," I told Emily as I slipped behind the intricately carved double doors.
"What's bothering you?" Alexander asked, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me down on the couch with him.
I sat on his lap and frowned.
"If anyone came in they would think you were cheating on your wife," I grumbled.
"No one is getting in, Lili," he said planting a kiss on my cheek. "You have Emily and Cassandra outside and an army of bodyguards. Add to that the fact that no one knows these offices are in use yet."
