The reason Riley wanted this office was because it was directly across from what would be mine someday.
We used to joke that we could make calls to one another and face each other's buildings and pretend we were having the conversation face to face.
Back then, Jade was set to marry some man her parents arranged for her and settle as a housewife so she didn't want in on our plans. Plus their family's offices were in another part of the city with shorter buildings.
"Alexi wanted this office, you know," Riley explained. "He set it up and all before you left, but Grandpa told him no. He said that the CEO's office would always be where it is now and that being a lovesick ass was only going to pull him down."
I couldn't help but laugh at what she had said.
"Alexander was not in love," I said, shaking my head.
