Mingshen stared at the hand he held and looked away for a moment as if pondering over something. Jia blinked and asked, "Yes?"
Mingshen held a prideful smirk and said, "It wasn't that big of a deal."
No, wait. That wasn't what I wanted to say, he frowned.
"For you, it might not be but for me, it certainly is," Jia smiled.
"Good to see you holding me in high regard."
"I give respect where it is due credit."
"Good."
He was still holding her hand to which she asked, "Anything else?"
"Yes."
"Go on."
Mingshen stared at her and looked away for a moment again. Then he said, "The custody room you were in was very small."
"Huh?" Jia was perplexed. "Well…It's a custody room. It's not supposed to be luxurious for people taken into custody. And that makes me ask you something I wanted to ask you for sometime."
"What?"
"How involved were you with my case's closure?"
