Op Rooppur II: Planning for a trip

The car stopped in front of a building. It was a lavish 14-story apartment complex with a penthouse at the top. Naser looked at Sohel and said, "Go inside and wait in front of the lift. I'll put the car in the garage and meet you there in a minute."

Sohel got out of the car and proceeded to go towards the boot to take his bag, but Naser urged him to leave it, saying he'd send someone to get it. So he entered the building and went towards the elevator. He wondered just how rich his friend had become in the short time that he was gone. Naser came and stood beside him.

He said, "Let's go."

They entered the elevator, and Naser clicked on the button to the 14th floor. They stopped at the 14th floor. They got out and stopped in front of a big door. Sohel was awed at all of this and asked, "Is this yours?"

Naser said, "Yup. Come on. Go in."

Sohel opened the door, and just as he entered the house, a girl around 23-24 came up to him and slapped him. He was shocked for a second. But before he could understand the situation, the same girl hugged him out of nowhere. Now he was actually confused. As he looked in front of him, he saw Tahmid and Ovi smiling. He understood what's going on and freed himself from the girl's bond. He looked at the girl and said, "You know that slap hurt, Mitali."

"You deserved it," said the girl with teary eyes.

Sohel looked at Naser and said, "Why didn't you tell me they were here?"

Naser shrugged and said, "It was a surprise."

"And Mitali, why the fuck did you hit me that hard? A little harder, and my teeth would fall out."

"You deserved it for not contacting us at all and making us worried."

Sohel's face hardened again as his actions seemed to have hurt his friends. Naser noticed this and said, "Now now. That's all for later. Sohel, go upstairs and freshen up first."

Sohel went up and saw a big hallway with doors on each side of the way. He couldn't help himself from thinking, "How much does he earn?"

"Your room is the second door to the left." Yelled Naser from downstairs.

He entered the room and saw his bag in front of a closet. He wondered again: who bought that bag up and when? But he stopped thinking about it and lost his clothes. He brought out a towel and a pair of fresh clothes and went in the shower. After spending almost half an hour showering, he came out. As he went downstairs after dressing up, he saw everyone sitting in the living area talking and laughing. He thought about how their friendship hadn't changed a bit even after staying this much time apart.

Tahmid noticed Sohel standing on the stairs looking at them and said, "You know, if you do that type of thing, I just might think you're a creepy stalker."

Sohel smiled and joined them. After reminiscing about their old days a bit, Ovi proposed an idea.

"You know we've reunited again after all these years, so why don't we all go on a little trip?"

They all think it would be a good idea and start talking about where to go. As they were talking, Sohel got a call. He took out his phone and got serious seeing the caller. He said to his friends, "I got to take this. You guys keep thinking."

Sohel got up and went upstairs.

A female voice came from the side of the call and said, "So? Did you make contact with the suspect? What do you think?"

Sohel replied, "I did, but there's no sign of him being affiliated with NWO as of now. I'll keep on monitoring him from my part."

"Are you sure you have the time? Medusa and Blast have already started their journey towards Rooppur. You need to meet up with them and continue the mission. If he is affiliated with NWO and is part of the attack team, you'd figure out, anyway."

"I know. But..."

"Come on, LT. No buts. You've got a mission to lead. You can't let your personal feelings get mixed with your mission."

"Hmm. I'll try. Thanks princess. Talk to you later."

He cut the call, came down and proposed, "Why don't we go to Pabna? We could visit the nuclear power plant along with the beauty of our countryside."

Naser joked, "Or we could send Ovi to the mental hospital there to fix his running after girls problem."

They all laugh at Naser's joke. Naser again said, "Of course. Let's go. I had to go there in a few days anyway for a field inspection."

Sohel and Naser looked at others for answers. Tahmid said, "Let's go. I'm all for beauty."

Ovi jokingly said, "Let's go. I might finally get a girlfriend there."

Mitaly said, "Everyone agrees, so why not?"

Sohel said, "Nice. So, it's comfirmed. We're going to Rooppur tomorrow."

Tahmid put one hand up in the air and screamed, "Let's get ready for Operation Ruppoor."

They all laugh, but only Sohel's laugh was fake. He thought that if his friends knew what's going on, forget laughing, they wouldn't even agree to go there.
