“Then why can’t I run away like her?”

“What?! How can that happen? You’re an important player on our team!”

Rin turned to argue with him. She knew that this man hated places where reporters flock to. Still, Madame Fon had ordered everyone (except herself) to attend the party no matter what. As a result, this man had to take off his glasses and assume his Joker persona for the occasion.

“But I’m not the captain here. It doesn’t matter if I’m missing.”

“Oh, shut it! Even when you were captain you didn’t attend this kind of event anyway,” Rin scolded. And the person with a guilty conscience instantly paused before giving his vice-captain a sheepish smile.

“Anyway!” Merlin sighed. “You should get used to it, Joker, since major ranking tournaments typically have pre-game parties. And actually, this kind of thing is also important. You don’t believe me? Just look at him.”
