I couldn't finish this novel, even with limited free access. The female lead is arguably the most clueless in Webnovel history (feel free to verify). The male lead is incredibly immature, acting like a child in a grown man's body.
A particularly disturbing chapter stands out, where the nursing mother leaves her child to reunite with her ex-fiancé and baby daddy. She consumes alcohol to prove she's not lightheaded, and the male lead takes advantage of her in that state (dismissed as a one-night stand). The next morning, he asks, "So you have milk?" – a cringe-worthy and gross moment.
The entire novel is riddled with uncomfortable lines, leaving me questioning the editorial process. It's surprising that this novel received a winning position in Cupid's Quill, making me wonder if the reviewer was, ironically, under the influence.
