As one of the Fatui Harbingers, Childe was among the most powerful warriors in the world.
He could understand if someone like the Yuheng of Liyue, Keqing, could fight him to a standstill, but how could this so-called Honorary Knight—who had only played a minor role during Mondstadt's dragon crisis—be his equal?
"Haha, well, this is getting interesting!"
Childe's surprise came from the sheer absurdity of the situation, not out of jealousy toward others.
As a pure warrior, Childe felt grateful that there were still strong individuals out there to challenge him. But as the Eleventh Harbinger of the Fatui, encountering Nolan at this critical moment was nothing but an obstacle!
"So, I'll save the thrill of enjoying battle for another time. For now, I'll do whatever it takes to remove the obstacle standing in my way!"
"Foul Legacy: Ultimate Thunder Spear!"
The weapon in Childe's hand crackled with even more violent lightning.
Even with a high-grade Delusion specifically crafted for the Fatui Harbingers, his body was beginning to struggle under such immense power.
"What the hell is this guy thinking?!"
Nolan could feel his Anemo elemental shield draining rapidly. If this continued for much longer, it would break in less than a minute.
After a moment of deliberation, he summoned his translucent mental threads once again.
One, two, three... ten in total. Ten threads shot out from the surrounding space toward Childe, who was now wrapped in a storm of lightning!
At the same time, Nolan raised the Moonlight Greatsword in his hand.
Activating the power of the Lumine's Sword Intent, a giant golden silhouette of a girl, seven to eight meters tall, appeared behind him, perfectly mirroring his movements.
As Nolan swung the Moonlight Greatsword toward Childe, the giant silhouette followed suit. This was a strike so powerful, it seemed as if it could tear through the very fabric of space itself!
"Two attacks at once—let's see how you handle this!" Nolan thought to himself with a faint smirk.
"Hmph, child's play!"
Childe had already experienced the power of those translucent threads. Despite their seemingly immense force, they could exert no more than five hundred kilograms of pressure.
If it hadn't been for their ability to attack his mind, he wouldn't have been restrained so easily earlier!
"Begone!"
Childe rechanneled the full force of his Delusion, transforming its concentrated power into a radiating shockwave. The burst of Electro energy shattered the translucent threads in an instant.
Nolan felt a momentary dizziness, but quickly recovered.
Behind him, Lumine, as well as Fischl—who had just broken through in Mondstadt—felt the same disorienting sensation. The feedback from the broken threads was divided among the three of them, lessening the overall impact.
In the end, it didn't cause too much harm, and Nolan's sword strike still advanced toward Childe with full force.
Childe, now with no time to dodge, braced himself as the sword came crashing down.
He could only raise his weapon to block.
First, he easily deflected the heavy sword's strike.
But when the golden longsword followed, Childe's feet sank into the ground, creating cracks in the solid surface beneath him.
"You fool attendant! My head just felt dizzy for a moment. Who are you fighting with? Do you need my help?"
As Nolan and Childe were locked in intense combat, Fischl's voice echoed in his mind, accompanied by a request to teleport to his side.
"No need, I'm with Lumine and one of Liyue's Qixing, ganging up on an arrogant thief. We have the upper hand.
"I just slipped up a little, but nothing serious. If things get dangerous, I'll use the teleport to escape. Don't worry."
To avoid making Fischl overly concerned, Nolan quickly explained the situation in his mind. He didn't need Fischl's help right now.
She wasn't yet strong enough to face a Fatui Harbinger. If she got injured, it would be unnecessary and dangerous.
Lumine, watching the stalemate between Nolan and Childe, lightly stomped the ground with her right foot. Using her Geo power, sharp stone spears rose from the earth, shooting toward Childe.
Seeing the stone spears coming, Childe realized he wasn't invincible and didn't have enough elemental energy left to fend off Lumine's attack while battling Nolan.
In desperation, he funneled a massive amount of Electro energy into his already damaged weapon.
The weapon shattered with a violent explosion of Electro energy, blasting Nolan back and forcing Childe to retreat, narrowly dodging Lumine's assault.
"Starward Sword!"
Before Childe could catch his breath, another threat appeared behind him. He quickly pulled out his longbow from his Vision and blocked the strike.
Even so, the force of the blow sent him flying, slamming into the wall and creating more cracks.
Kneeling on one knee, Childe coughed lightly before standing up, exhaling deeply as he remarked:
"Really now, three against one? That's a bit unfair. The last time I was this cornered was when I fought my master."
"Hmph, enough with the talking. Surrender now, and you might suffer less!" Keqing sternly said, her eyes still locked on the Fatui Harbinger, remaining vigilant.
"Yuheng of Liyue, you're also spouting nonsense."
Childe shot back, mockingly.
As he spoke, his body began to float in the air. He sighed and said, "Seems like I'll have to use my ultimate technique to defeat you all!"
"What is he up to?" Lumine's amber eyes showed a hint of confusion.
"Who knows, but since he's the enemy, whatever he's planning, we have to stop him!"
Keqing stomped forward, closing the distance to Childe in an instant like a blur. Her Lion's Roar sword, coated with Electro energy, slashed downward once more.
Agreeing with Keqing, Lumine infused her sword with Anemo power, preparing to trigger a Swirl reaction to maximize the damage against Childe.
Nolan, of course, followed closely behind. He had a feeling Childe was about to use his "Foul Legacy Transformation."
During the game's story, Childe had pulled out this trump card in the final phase.
Back then, Nolan had thought it looked pretty cool—he'd even briefly considered pulling for the male character. But after a trial run where transformation wasn't possible, he dropped the idea.
Knowing that Childe would become much stronger after using Foul Legacy Transformation, Nolan naturally wanted to prevent him from successfully activating it.
Though he wasn't sure if he could interrupt Childe's "spell," he had to try. If not, the Harbinger might balance out their numbers advantage, making things much more difficult.
"Hah, you think you can stop me? It's too late!"
Childe activated Foul Legacy Transformation with incredible speed. Just as the three of them approached, a surge of power blasted them away!
