The Arrival Of Old Friends

Winter is already upon Zondalia, this time the snow is not as heavy as last week when there were frequent snowstorms. Snow removal trucks and workers have cleared the roads so that they can be traveled as usual.

Since the school holidays were already underway, Amanda felt reassured that Lucas didn't have to leave the house in such weather.

"Here's your hot chocolate, dear," Amanda said, handing Lucas a mug of hot chocolate with marshmellows.

"Thanks, Mama!" Lucas accepted the glass and went back to watching television.

She sat on the sofa enjoying her hot chocolate with Lucas. William was still busy with his work as the secret agent's days off were uncertain. So was Kylie, even though Amanda had hoped to spend Christmas together the day after tomorrow.

"Mama, Aunt Kylie is busy at work, isn't she?" Lucas asked.

"Yes, Aunt Kylie just got a bigger job. So she'll be busier than usual."
