Magic

While listening to the people around him he learned many details about himself. His name is Eren, and his family name is Star. His family is a royal family. His mother is Sophia, the queen, and his father`s only wife. His father is Henry, the king of the Star Dynasty. His grandfather is William, the former king. He also had a four-year-old sister Alice. He and Alice are the only children of Henry and Sophia. He was also heir to the throne of the Star dynasty after his father. These were all he understood about his origin from their talks. He did not have parents back on Earth so having this family made him extremely happy.

Other than that, he also learned that he was asleep for nearly 3 months which means he is seven months old right now. 'According to my mother`s and father`s talk, it has something to do with me having two soul cores. It must have been some sort of illness they have in this world, but I know that is wrong because I know that it was because my brain was just making sure to accommodate my conscience part by part. However, I do not know why my brain behaves this way or where it takes all my memories from. It needs to be checked.

He also deduced that the day-year cycle of this world is the same as the Earth from the change of seasons. He was extremely curious about this new world. Although he does not remember how he died he remembers that he was a scientist. It must be because of that he always thinks tons of questions like 'How did he rebirth? Why did he rebirth here? How does here resemble so much the Earth? How do humans here have the same evolutionary path as on earth? Since I rebirthed, was my conscience carried with a soul-like existence?... so on and so on he needs to make sure to find an answer to these questions later.

Right now, he needs to think of a way to start to speak in a way that he doesn't seem like a monster. Although it is a little bit early for a normal child, he does not need to be like one. As long as it is within the boundaries of genius, it is okay. He does not want to act like a baby months-long anymore.

One day when his mother playing with him, he spoke 'Mother'. It was worth just to see his mother's smile. From that day forward, he gradually increased the complexity of the sentences he could speak. When he was ten months old, he could ask simple questions. One night after the meal, the whole family of five was happily chatting. William stood up and took Eren from his crib. He asked, "Eren do you want to walk?"

Eren nodded enthusiastically. Because he spent 3 months sleeping his muscles developed a little late compared to his peers, so his mother did not permit his repeated pleas to walk. William put Eren down and helped him walk. Though quite unsteady, after quite a while Eren started to walk by himself. As he walked away from William toward his mother, he could see his mother`s worry. 

Just as he was putting his foot down, he lost his footing and started to fall he saw something he would never forget. He was floating in the air. No! he was supported with near-transparent red treads. A part of them had support from the ground, a part of them was wrapping around his body and they all were pointing toward his mother. When Eren looked at his mother he was in shock because these red threads were moving like worms. When Sophia saw his expression, she knew that she had to explain what she had done. She gently pulled Eren to her arms. 

Having seen this Eren could not stay silent any longer and asked, "Mother what was that?" he needed to learn this because it was either a very high technology tool or some sort of anomaly they did not have back on Earth. 

"They were ropes Eren." She replied.

"No, they were not mom. You said lying is bad. Do not lie." Replied Eren and everyone started to laugh. 

Henry said "They are some sort of ropes Eren. Just not the kind of ropes you have seen."

"Henry, what did we talk about having pre-exposing Eren to magic?" Sophia asked. 

"Well, it was you in the first place. Do you think you can hide it? Don't you see his eyes?" everyone looked at Eren`s curious eyes.

Eren asked again "Mom, show it again I want to touch it."

Sophia sighed and opened her hand. This time Eren showed more attention. He saw that from her mother`s fingertips, pale red treads were growing. When Eren saw this, he was stumped. He could see although they were growing out of her fingertips, they were not coming out of her body. They were just materializing from thin air. This was not some kind of tool. This was a whole set of natural laws different from the Earth. This was magic! There was magic in this universe. It seems he was not only on a different planet but also in a completely different universe.

He turned his head to his father and grandfather looked at them and asked. "Can both of you also do it?"

They both chuckled and shook their head. Not having expected that answer this answer, Eren asked "You cannot? Why?"

This time William answered "We also can do magic but we have fundamentally different kinds of magic. While your mother can do magic outwardly, we can just do it inside our bodies. Both your father and me are bodyforgers. Your mother however is an enchanter. Got it?" 

Eren nodded and asked "Can I also do it? What am I?"

After hearing this William smiled and said "Of course, you can do magic too. As for what you are capable of, we will see it in the future. But if you want to know more about magic, you must wait until you are two years old. at that time, you can ask me anything.

Hearing this Eren nodded dejectedly. He never really wanted to grow instantly this much.
