9. Sudden Mole Rat Infestation

Sico Calculate that this project will take time at least 4 months because the place is bigger than the previous place and there are many broken floors because of the mole rat. Sico and the others start working on renovating the place by replacing the broken floor and then fixing the electrical power so there is no power outage in the future. Then reinforce the broken wall with concrete and steel because the place has never been maintained over the last 2 centuries while letting the others do the jobs, Sico inspects every single job to make sure there are no missed place that needs to be renovated. After finishing the quota of the day, everyone went back to their own room to get some rest because tomorrow they still needed to continue the project.

The next day, Sico continued doing his work on the project when he heard the sound of something crumbling downstairs and then heard screaming from the workers.

Worker A: "Run!!! There's a mole rat!."

Worker B: "Gogogo!!! To the elevator!."

Then he saw many workers from downstairs run to the elevator and heard a gunshot, it must be the security personnel covering the worker. While Calvin led the workers back to the upper ground using the elevator, Sico led the security personnel to hold the ground to cover the retreating workers. After all the workers are back on the upper ground, Sico and the security personnel make their run to the elevator and quickly go back to the upper ground.

When They arrived at the upper ground, they saw the workers who were wounded were being taken care of by Jenny and Dr. Forsythe alongside his personnel while Robert and the security personnel made a barricade around the elevator so that no one could trespass it. Then Sico saw the worried face of the overseer alongside his parents, when they saw him they were relieved that he was fine and told him that if there was another incident like that let the security department take care of it. After talking to Sico, his parents back to their room and the overseer alongside Calvin and Officer Edwards wanted to talk to him about his incident.

Gwen: "Sico, you said before that the place is clean and there is no mole rat again."

Officer Edwards: "Slow down overseer maybe what Sico killed may be the one who stays in that place, because from what Calvin told us the mole rat came from the wall that suddenly crumbled."

Calvin: "Yes what Edwards said is right, maybe that place where the mole rat suddenly came out is their den."

Gwen: "You two are right, sorry Sico for my outburst. I merely worried about why this incident could happen."

Sico: "It's okay, I know that there are large responsibilities on your shoulder overseer. You just care about the well being of the workers that participate in this project."

Gwen: "Thank you for your understanding, we need to think about how can we continue this project."

Sico: "How about we send the security personnel to wipe out the mole rat? I mean this can be a perfect practice for them because many of them never kill something or someone."

Officer Edwards: "I agree with Sico, my men need to kill something so they can get used to it and see if their training pays off."

Gwen: "Hmm… okay then we begin the assault tomorrow, Edwards I hope you bring Sico too in this assault because he has experience against the mole rat."

Officer Edwards: "Yes overseer, I will brief my men now to make a preparation for tomorrow."

Gwen: "Good, Calvin I hope for now you help to ease the fear of the workers so that when this incident finishes they still want to work because if not the project will be stalled."

Calvin: "Okay then but I reckon maybe they will be continued in the project because one of the benefits for them is that they will get a room in the new place."

Gwen: "Great then I will leave it to you guys to calm down the situation, let me do the talking with the section chief of every department."

Sico: "What about me?."

Gwen: "Sico, you can get to rest because tomorrow you will have a heavy duty to do."

Sico: "Okay then."

After that everyone split up to do their own job, while Sico went back to his room to get some rest. On the way to his room, Sico thinks about why there was an attack, where in the game there will be no mole rat again.

Sico: 'It's weird that this can happen, then it means that what I know about the fallout game world will be different a little because this is a real world, not a game world. Then I have to be cautious so that there will be no unprepared incident like today.'

After that Sico realizes that while he was thinking about the situation, he arrived at his room and went in to eat his food then took a shower after that he went to sleep. In the morning, Sico woke up and then went prepared for the assault. Sico went to the security department for a meeting and briefing about the situation, on the way he met Robert who would join the assault so they went together.

After arriving at the place, Sico and Robert saw that the security personnel were preparing for the briefing that would be led by Officer Edwards. They take a seat and focus on hearing the plan for the assault from Officer Edwards after the briefing is finished, all the people in the room preparing their weapons so there will be no jam or stuck when the assault begins.

After finishing the preparation, the group went to the elevator with the group was divided into two groups the first group was led by Sico and Robert then the second group was led by Officer Edwards. Sico group will be the ones who go to the lower ground first, after arriving at the elevator the group ready their weapon because they knew while retreating yesterday, the mole rats were chasing them until they the elevator. So there would be no harm in being prepared than being sorry later, they go down to the lower ground and when the elevator door opens they see a group of mole rats in front of the elevator and open fire on them.

When the mole rats in front of the elevator have been wiped out, Sico leads his men to get out of the elevator so that the group led by Calvin can come down and place a barricade in the area to become the momentary base of operations then moving the mole rats body to one place so it will not become a hindrance. After Officer Edward's group arrives, Sico and Officer Edwards discuss which group will take the upper level and lower level. When the discussion finishes, Sico's group will be the one who kills the mole rat on the lower level while Officer Edwards's group on the upper level.

Then they continue to go to the place where the mole rats are coming out, after arrive they see that there are many mole rats in the place. Sico and Officer Edwards quickly lead their group to their own position like the plan and quickly open fire on the mole rats, while attacking the mole rats Sico saw that there was a hole in the wall that must be the mole rat den. He quickly leads some of his men to the mole rat den and sees that there is a bigger mole rat that must be the mother mole rat and quickly leads his men to open fire on the den.

After ordering his man to stand down, Sico goes into the den and sees if there's any mole rat that is still alive. When Sico got in he saw that the den itself was quite big and after checking that there was no more mole rat alive, Sico stepped out and led his men to bring some lockers to block the entrance for a while.

When finished placing the lockers in front of the mole rat den, Sico and his group meet up with Officer Edwards's group. Fortunately, there were no casualties just some minor injuries when Sico and Officer Edwards counted how many mole rats there were, they were shocked that there were 80 mole rats that they had killed. After finishing collecting all the mole rat bodies, they bring them back to the upper ground vault to place in the cafeteria freezer to become food supply.

After Sico and Officer Edwards dismissed the assault group, they went to the overseer to report the situation and told her that there was no more mole rat in that area. When they arrived at the overseer's room, they saw that the overseer was expecting them maybe she had heard from one of the security personnel who guarded her that we had finished the task.

Gwen: "Ah both of you guys, I am already expecting you please sit down."

Officer Edwards: "Ma'am the task has already been completed and we managed to kill all the mole rats this time while making sure that there's no wall that will crumble again and that the inside is full of mole rats."

Sico: "What Officer Edwards says is right overseer, this time I make sure there's no spot that we missed."

Gwen: "Great job then, now the project can be continued. I plan to let it start in two days to give the workers some more rest and for you guys, there was a little party for you guys to celebrate the success of this task."

Officer Edwards: "Thank you, overseer, now excuse us we have to go."

Gwen: "Sure goodbye to you two thanks for killing the mole rats."

After that Sico and Officer Edwards went back to the security department room to gather the group and lead them to the cafeteria where the officer gave them a nice little party to celebrate their success. When the party was over, everyone went back to their room to get a shower and went to sleep after an exhausting day. Went Sico lay down in his bed he didn't forget to see his status and saw that there were an extra 17 mole rat meat and mole rat teeth after killing the mole rat when finished saw his status Sico went to sleep.
