The Martial Reader

Authors note: This is my first ever publishing if you see any corrections, I may need to make feel free to comment other than that enjoy!

In a class known for its bullies, we meet our protagonist.

Ryuki Kirishima also known as Ryu by his family, comes from the suburbs. He is often looked down on for having holes in his shoes and ragged clothes.

One day, on a not-so-ordinary day we walk into a classroom where our protagonist seems to be having some trouble.

As Ryuki laid on the floor "Please stop I'm sorry I'll listen to you next time." He pleaded, while they kept kicking him in the stomach, He thought to himself "Why me, what did I do to deserve all of this?!"

As Draco proceeds to keep kicking him while he's down with his friends standing guard making sure the teacher doesn't come back early, Draco begins to say, "Next time don't be late you dam bastard." he smirked while looking down at him. 

The whole class stares and whispers, "Why should we help him he can't even help himself" "I heard he was just some poor boy" "Did you hear he was close to losing his house." "Why is he looking at us, freak." 

As soon as the bell rang Mrs. K proceeded to walk down the hallway, Draco's friends told Draco that the teacher was coming, and all students scrambled back to their seats as Ryuki was still lying on the ground holding his stomach Mrs. K proceeded to walk in and sees Ryuki lying on the floor "Oh dear are you okay?" Ryuki out of breath "Yes ma'am I'm fine. I just slipped that's all."

The class was as normal as can be, no bullying, no teasing just silence. For once, when it was all said and done, he decided to walk home. All of a sudden, he felt weird, like something bad was going to happen. "My stomach, and my head, feel like they are going to burst," he said while in distress. 

All of a sudden, he saw a crack in the sky. He rubbed his eyes, thinking he was hallucinating due to the amount he had been kicked that day. Then, out of nowhere, he heard the loudest roar of his life. Big monster-looking beings fell from the sky and scattered; he fled desperately seeking cover.

Ryuki finds a safe place in this abandoned library. He hears footsteps and books flying around everywhere. Suddenly, he spots an opening in the basement and makes a desperate run for it.

The monster, otherwise known as the Goblin (lvl:5) spots Ryuki and starts yelling, immediately giving chase. panic fills Ryuki as he screams while sprinting through the library, desperately throwing books onto the floor in an attempt to slow down the goblins. Heart pounding, he spots a refuge, a glass container housing a precious book. He quickly dives behind it, hoping to evade the goblins' grasp.

With a thundering thud, the goblins leap towards him, their claws slashing through the air. in a split second, Ryuki manages to evade their clutches, narrowly dodging their ferocious attacks. The impact of their assault shatters the glass container, sending shards flying in all directions.

As the goblins lie dazed on the floor, Ryuki contemplates running for it. However, his hopes are swiftly gone as a new monster emerges from the shadows. it's a Hobgoblin (lvl:10), a more formidable adversary than the rest. The Hobgoblin blocks the exit, wearing a sinister smirk that hints at its heightened intelligence and cunningness.

Ryuki's eyes dart around the room, searching for a solution. Suddenly, he notices the book around the shattered glass. Its pages shimmer with an otherworldly glow. An idea sparks in his mind, and he swiftly makes a calculated decision. With determination in his eyes, he charges towards the incapacitated goblins and snatches the book from its resting place.

A bright light engulfed the boy. He started screaming desperately, "What's happening to me? it burns!"

As the light emitted from the boy's body intensified, the goblins standing nearby were reduced to mere ashes. Overwhelmed by the surge of power, Ryuki's consciousness faded, and he fell into a deep unconscious state.

In this critical moment, an enigmatic being, unknown to all present, intervened to ensure the boy's survival and protect him from the approaching hobgoblins. Just as two more hobgoblins arrived to investigate the commotion, the mysterious entity's irritation became evident. "Seriously, I've been pulled down to the mortal realm to deal with such lowly trash," it muttered with a tone laced with impatience and disdain.

As the hobgoblins charged toward the unknown being, he calmly raised his hands in a commanding gesture. In that decisive moment, he uttered a single word "Inferno."

instantly a surge of power erupted from his palm. Flames erupted from his outstretched palm, into a blazing inferno that engulfed the surroundings, consuming half of the abandoned library in its destructive path. The intensity of the fire was so immense that all monsters in the vicinity were reduced to ashes instantly.

Ryuki suddenly awakens amidst the rubble, clutching the book tight to his chest. As he blinked away the remnants of his unconsciousness a message appeared before his eyes. it read [Congratulations! On your awakening.]

"Did I die?" Ryuki ponders to himself, but clearly, he is alive and not dead. So, he Is curious about the hovering text before him.

Ryuki not understanding any of this, decides to prioritize his family. As he started to run home in a panic, his heart was beating out of his chest, while his thoughts were racing about his family's safety.
