Dangling a Carrot

KARA'S POV

After my meal with Viktor, he arranged for the prince to be brought to the playroom that night. For the rest of the day, I was feeling anxious. I had dealt with the first part which was getting Viktor to agree to me seeing the prince, the hard part was now convincing him.

At the scheduled time the Prince was brought to the playroom where Giffith, Aldric, and I were already waiting. I also had some water and a bowl of soup secretly prepared for him because I had a feeling that Viktor's punishment included starving him after the other time that Aldric was punished. I doubted he would trust us and accept the food but I still wanted to make sure.

"What kind of room is this?" the prince asked when he entered, and he looked around taking in all the toys and contraptions. The knights that brought him took him to one of the restriction contraptions, it was the one that had been replaced after Aldric broke the previous one.
