The Gurdian

~~Previously, in the life of a Samurai, our protagonist, Miyamoto, expresses his desire to serve the Starks.~~

3rd Person P.O.V.—

Lord Edwyle Stark looked at Miyamoto with a mix of surprise and curiosity. He couldn't help but wonder why a warrior of such skill and principle would seek to serve a Northern lord like himself. The idea had clearly caught him off guard, but his respect for Miyamoto's values was evident.

"Miyamoto, I am honored by your offer, but I must admit, I'm taken aback. You, a skilled warrior with principles as noble as the North's, seeking to serve our house in this remote corner of the world," Lord Stark mused aloud, after thinking for a few minutes, he said "It's a humbling proposal, and I believe that your teachings and your presence could bring something extraordinary to Winterfell."

Miyamoto nodded with gratitude, "I've always believed that true strength lies not just in one's sword arm but in one's heart, in the values one upholds. I sense a similar ethos in House Stark, and I believe that together, we can achieve great things."

Young Rickerd, ever eager to learn, couldn't contain his excitement. "Does this mean you'll be my teacher, Miyamoto?" he asked, his eyes shining with anticipation.

Miyamoto smiled at the boy and said, "Yes, Rickerd, I would be honored to be your teacher."

Lord Stark gave his approval, and the decision was made. The next step in this unexpected journey would be a significant one. Miyamoto was to take an oath of service to House Stark, a solemn promise that would bind him to their cause.

The Weirwood Tree, ancient and wise, stood at the heart of Godswood. It was a place where many important decisions were made, and where vows and promises were sworn. Lord Stark, Miyamoto, Aryon, Maester Walys, and Rickerd gathered around the towering tree, its white bark and blood-red leaves creating an otherworldly backdrop.

Miyamoto, dressed in his samurai attire, stood before the tree. In his hands, he held his katana, its blade gleaming in the dappled light of the Weirwood. His voice was steady and resolute as he began his oath.

"In the name of the old gods and the new, I, Miyamoto Musashi, do solemnly swear to serve House Stark with honor, courage, and loyalty. I pledge my sword and my skills to protect and defend this noble house and all its members. I will stand by your side in times of peace and times of war, and I will uphold the values of justice, compassion, and honesty. My loyalty to House Stark is unwavering, and I will fulfill my duty with unwavering dedication."

Lord Stark, Aryon, Maester Walys, and Rickerd listened in solemn silence as Miyamoto made his vow. When he finished, Lord Stark stepped forward, placing a hand on Miyamoto's shoulder. "Miyamoto, by the old gods and the new, I accept your oath and welcome you as a sworn sword of House Stark. May our journey together be fruitful and our bond unbreakable."

Aryon, too, stepped forward, a smile touching his battle-hardened features. "I have known many warriors in my time, but you, Miyamoto, are unlike any other. I look forward to training alongside you and learning from your unique skills."

Rickerd, bubbling with excitement, couldn't contain his enthusiasm any longer. "This is amazing! I have a samurai teacher now!" He exclaimed, his youthful exuberance infectious.

Miyamoto knelt before the Weirwood tree, touching its ancient white bark. "I thank the old gods and the new for this opportunity, and I pledge to honor this oath with all my heart and soul."

The ceremony concluded, and they left the sacred space of the Weirwood Tree. As they walked back towards Winterfell, Lord Stark turned to Miyamoto and said, "This is a momentous occasion, Miyamoto. You are now a member of our house, and your skills will undoubtedly be a valuable asset. But remember, you are not just a sworn sword; you are a friend and a teacher to my son."

Miyamoto nodded, a sense of purpose burning in his eyes. "I understand, M'lord. I will do my best to impart the values of Bushido to Rickerd and to serve House Stark with unwavering dedication."

As they returned to Winterfell, a sense of unity and purpose enveloped them. The unexpected bond between House Stark and a samurai from a distant land was forged, and it held the promise of great adventures and shared wisdom.

In the chapters to come, Miyamoto's teachings would shape young Rickerd, and his presence would leave a lasting impact on the Stark household. The journey of the samurai in the world of Game of Thrones had only just begun, and the possibilities were as vast as the lands of Westeros.

[A/N: I can already hear the comments saying "He's a Stark dog now, yada yada yada. But I will tell you he's not. He will be a Teacher, a friend, an advisor and a Gurdian. Also some may ask why did Lord Stark took someone like that just after a day of knowing him, well you will find out in the next chapter. Cherio~]
