As planned, I took a long, much-needed nap after I got back to my tent. The day was warm, which only helped me drift off more easily. When I roused from my sleep, the sun had set and the camp was surprisingly quiet. I stared up at the ceiling of my tent for a while, soaking in the near silence. It was a bit unnerving, honestly. My entire time here has been filled with the noise of conversations, laughter, small fights, the essence of human nature. And the past few days have been tainted with the sounds of war, battle, and death. Now that it was so still, I was scared to disrupt it.
