Then Tripiṭaka and Yan Fei felt the ground beneath their feet begin to shake violently. Following that, the earth beneath them caved in, creating a massive hole with a diameter of over fifty meters. Fire surged and billowed from deep within the hole, and a wave of heat rushed skyward. While still standing above, they could feel the terrifying heat emanating from deep below.
With nothing to support them, the unprepared Tripiṭaka and Yan Fei fell towards the cavern below. Tripiṭaka had never imagined the ground where he stood would collapse into a huge cavern, which was why he fell into it. However, with his vast experience, he somersaulted several times in mid-air and approached the cavern walls. Clawing his hands like talons, he dug his palms into the wall, suspending himself and halting his fall.
