The Kiss

Cassie and the others had a great time last night. However, Theo really didn't even let her drink at least one.

The man was guarding her all along. Rona then couldn't help but tease her and was making assumptions about Theo's like or love for her.

"I told you many times that he loves you and cares." Those are precisely her words. And it keeps on echoing inside Cassie's head.

After that moment, Cassie then confronted Theo inside the man's room.

"Can we talk?"

Theo turned to her. The guests already left. Others are already sleeping, including her baby and her nanny.

"What is it this time?"

"You didn't even let me have at least one drink—"

"It's not good for our daughter. If you stop breastfeeding, then you can have—"

"What are you planning? Are you planning that I go under your shoe?"

Theo frowned as he sat on the side of his bed. "What?"

"What are we?"

Theo scoffed. "We? We are co-parenting our daughter…"

"Then why are you taking my decisions? Why are you meddling with my life? I am just the mother of your daughter. I am not your girlfriend or your wife! So, stop telling me what I'm going to do."

Theo heaved a deep sigh. He stood up, and the things that happened next went swiftly. He rushed toward her, cupped her face, and pressed his lips to hers.

Cassie was shocked and wondered again. She doesn't know how to react. Whether she will respond or not, it seems like her body knows what to do next. She then finds herself being drowned by the man's kiss. She enveloped her hands around the man's nape, and Theo grabbed the opportunity to deepen the kiss. He savors her lower lip, nibbling it as if it were some kind of candy, making Cassie let out a soft moan.

When Theo pulled away, he fixed his gaze on hers. "I hope this clears the misunderstanding," he said.

Cassie bit her lower lip and looked away. And after that awkward moment, she left the room.

Theo couldn't help but shake his head as he stared for a while at the door.

He sighed, and then suddenly, his phone rang.

It's Hunter.

"What?"

"Good news, dude. You're right about it."

"Find every evidence that we can use to sue him," Theo said as he sat down on his bed.

"Noted. Anyway, are you sure you're giving back the money we robbed?"

Theo sighed. "Yes. I hope the old man learned his lesson. We visit him tomorrow," he replied, and after that, he hung up the call.

Theo was behind the almost bankruptcy of Cassie's father's company. After that night in the bar, he conducted an investigation into the woman's background and found everything. He doesn't know why he's doing it, but maybe it was because the woman saved him that night.

He's drinking in that bar when suddenly he feels drunk, which is unusual, and at that moment, he knows that he's been drugged, but he has nothing to worry about because he has already handled everything, and it's all in the past. Of course, with Kurt and Hunter's help. Besides, it was just from that psychotic bartender who has a crush on him, and he doesn't want to waste his time about it.

Going back to Morgan, he dislikes the way they treated Cassie. It's indeed that Cassie is fat, but she's not ugly at that time. But many things changed for her after years. She's not that fatty woman, and she became more radiant and beautiful.

Now, what if Cassie will show up to her family? Will they recognize her?

All Theo ever wanted was to help Cassie. He wasn't sure if it was like or love because he knew himself that he was not capable of loving someone aside from his late wife.

"WHAT'S wrong with you? And why the hell—" Rona didn't finish her words when Cassie covered her mouth with her palm.

"Can you please lower your voice?"

Rona arched her brow and dragged Cassie toward the bathroom. "What the hell is wrong with you? Why did you wake me up? I thought it was an emergency, as you have stated on the phone."

Cassie massages her temple. "It is an emergency."

Rona squinted her eyes. "Of what?"

"I… I don't know where to start, but if I'm not going to let this out, I'm going to explode," Cassie started.

Rona crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Is this about Theo?"

Cassie moved her gaze away and stared at herself in front of the mirror. It was still early, and her duty started at eight and it was just six o'clock. She really did her best to wake up early.

The thing is… she didn't even have a good sleep last night because of what had happened. That man!

"Tell me…" Rona asked, seemingly irritated.

"Ro, we… we kissed."

Rona puffed her cheeks and laughed sarcastically. "You're freaking the hell out of me early in the morning just because you and Theo kissed? Really, Cassie Morgan? You even do more than that, remember? That's why you have Camila?"

Cassie sighed and looked at Rona. "I don't know what to feel… I don't know what to react—"

"Just go with the flow. Geez, as far as we know, Theodore Smith is a bachelor. So, what's your freaking problem?"

Cassie pressed her lips together. This is why she hates being in a complicated situation.

"You know what… next time, I will not share my personal useless problems," she said and left the bathroom.

Rona shook her head and followed Cassie. "Come on, Cici. You knew I drank too much last night, and I still have—"

"That's why I apologize," Cassie said when she stopped and turned to meet Rona's gaze.

Rona heaved a deep sigh. "Geez, we'll talk about your love problems after work over dinner, all right?"

Cassie smiled and nodded. She knew Rona couldn't bear to ignore her.

"Thank you. See you later then."

Rona nodded. "Tell Theo that we have a date," she said and winked at her friend.

Cassie let out a soft chuckle.

"GOOD MORNING, Mr. Smith. It is nice having you in our humble home," Mira Morgan-Carter greeted Theo soon as he stepped out of his car.

Kurt then walked to the other side and greeted Mira, but the boastful lady ignored him. The man then couldn't help but scoff and mocked a smile toward the woman.

"Guess Mrs. Carter is really full of herself."

"Kurt," Theo warned when the man looked at Kurt.

Kurt raised his hand and even gave out a salute to Theo.

Since day one, Drake Carter's wife dislikes Kurt just because the man accidentally poured a glass of wine into the woman's Dior dress. Even though Kurt apologized, which is unusual of him, Mira still didn't forget that moment and has been taking it up to now.

Well, Kurt doesn't mind about it, but he finds it funny every time he encounters Cici's half-sister. The woman maybe two years younger than Cici, but Cici is way more beautiful than her.

Kurt couldn't help but think, 'If this boastful lady saw her sister, she may envy her beauty.'

Kurt followed them inside Morgan's manor.

"We can handle it from here," Theo stated, wearing his authoritative voice.

Mira's mother, Myla, couldn't help but felt bewildered every time Theo talked.

Kurt couldn't help but smirk.

Mira then opened the room of Mr. Morgan, and after that, the woman even bowed her head in respect to Theo.

Kurt was the last one to enter, so he was the one who closed it and even flashed a sly smirk toward Mira.

"That bitch is really something," Kurt muttered.

However, Theo didn't reply and walked toward the old man's bed.

Medical apparatuses are present inside the old man's room, indicating he's ill. But Theo visited him this time with good news, which he hopes helps the old man recover.

The nurse moved aside when Theo sat on the chair beside the bed. Due to the old man's paralysis, he can't talk well and even moved his left arm and left leg.

"Good morning, Mr. Morgan," it was Kurt.

The old man's eyes moved, and he even nodded his head.

"We're here to inform you of some good news," Kurt continued. Well, he's now acting like Theo's spokesperson.

"Given the fact how you mistreated your daughter, Cassie, for the past few years, Mr. Smith here will now give back all the shares that he bought from your company."

The old man wanted to talk as he moved, but the nurse forbade him.

"I'm sorry, Misters, but the doctor said that he must still—"

"Just repeat my dialogues to him," Kurt said, and at that moment, Theo stood up and left the room, followed by Kurt.

Kurt couldn't help but let out his opinion when they got out. "Try to show some sweetness, will you?"

Theo stopped walking just to glare at Kurt.

Kurt then let out a soft chuckle. "Fine. I'll stop talking," he uttered.

When Mira Carter saw Theo and Kurt, the woman rushed toward them and was about to talk when Kurt lifted his hands and said, "We know our way out, thanks."

Mira Carter was left dumbfounded.
