Chapter 34

Hiccup Pov:

 It has been 1 year since the attack on the school. In that time me, Mutism, and Scribbler have had a lot of adventures. We ended up finally killing Halfdan, it was surprisingly hard.

 We have a few new Dragons with us, one of the most recent being the Lightfury. It ended up being Toothless's mate and I am hoping for it to be Astrid's new Dragon when she remembers. I have not talked to Thorfinn in months so I am planning on going back there later.

 We are currently on our way to see the up coming war between my friend Dagur and someone off to the east. Dagur is going to become chief soon so I have to be there for that. After saving Oswald and Heather, They wanted me there, I could bring whatever, but my dragon needed to stay outside.

 We were about to arrive so Mutism got into his gear on Dagur's Triple Strike Sleuther. It was about 10:00 in the morning when we landed at our rendezvous with Dagur. He had picked out a cave for us to hide our dragons so they wouldn't cause trouble.

 We are staying for a few days at a cabin on the edge of town so the people can get used to us. During that time Heather comes up to me and asks me in a little menacing tone. "Your eyes, They look like Astrid's dead friend." At this I start to panic a little but calm down.

 "More than one person can have this color of eyes." I say. "Still I am keeping my eye on you." She says and walks off. I let the others know so they can keep secret about it.

 Finally the day comes but I forgot that when someone becomes chief, chiefs from other tribes come. I was watching the Harbor and I see that almost every tribe came. The list was, The Meatheads, The Bog Burglars, The VisiThugs, The Uglithugs, and The Hairy Hooligans.

 I look and see, Cami, Thug, A few other people part of the Tribes and then Stoick, Gobber, Twins, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Thorfinn, and Astrid.

 I was not looking forward to seeing Astrid, But it will be nice to talk to Thorfinn. From the looks of things Snotlout is still trying to win Astrid. Some things never change.

 As it comes time to go to the ceremony I notice Askeladd and Bjørn. I decide that I am going to talk to them later, but not now. I go to the arena with Scribbler and Mutism.

 When we arrive we get suspicious glares from the guests. I guess that's normal when you are wearing a black mask and clothing. We sit with Dagur's family.

 Before it starts Heather goes over to Astrid to say hi before whispering something in her ear. I think that it is about me. Heather comes back and before Astrid can come over It starts.

Astrid Pov:

 We arrive at berserker Island and I look around for heather when I notice a man with a black mask. He was walking into the village from the cliff overlooking us at the docks.

 I can't find Heather or that man, It comes time for the ceremony so we go to the Arena. When I arrive I sit in our section, It is on the opposite side of Heather's. I hear some gasps and I look around and see some of the other guests looking at 3 people in black and purple masks.

 I don't think much until they sit in Heather's section. Then Heather comes up to me and says. "The man in straight black has eyes like your dead friend. The one in purple I don't know, and the final one I haven't really seen."

 Heather goes back to her seat and I am about to go over for 2 reasons but the ceremony starts.

 "Thank you all for coming." Oswald says and continues on with normal stuff. Then Dagur comes up along with the healer. The coronation goes quickly when the 3 people with masks go tense and say. "Watch out!" As the first one throws a.. Shield, Where was he hiding it.

 It goes and hits a couple of Daggers that were flying at Dagur and Oswald from the forest. All of a sudden everyone is in defensive positions including me. The men in masks go up to Dagur and asks him something. Dagur nods and one of the Black masks ROARS like a Dragon.

 Next thing I know people are being thrown out of the forest by Dragons. Oswald yells. "Seize those men!!" And continues more quietly. "Get the Dragons out now, I know they saved us but I can't stop people from killing them." I look and see the Masks Run off into the woods.

 Later on we have rounded up all of the Assassins and It is late so the ceremony will be picked up tomorrow. I go to Dinner and see one of the men in masks talking to Dagur like they new each other well.

 I decide to go over and ask. "Do you guys know each other?" I say as I finally recognizing the man as Ryder. "Yes, he saved me a few years ago and then my family a few months later." Dagur says.

 "I guess that that is a few things we have in common." I say but Dagur doesn't react. "The only thing I know was that I was with him on his Island, but I had amnesia so I forget everything else." At this Dagur reacts and says. "I am going to leave you 2 alone." And sneaks off as Ryder protests.
