Chapter 113

He felt like trash after giving that order.

He knew he should go all out but couldn't, so he called on the one who would wash his hands.

Robin has never felt so dirty before.

Starfire controls the vampires in this portion of the city, but many have escaped by turning into bats or other animals due to their numbers.

A few of the three hundred vampires at the start went to the subway, and the other one hundred ran away to leave them to fight the rest.

Starfire alone was containing them by flying around the perimeter and firing relentlessly.

After being called, Starfire went into free fall while landing right in front of the vampires attacking Robin and Kid Flash.

She spun her body and landed a punch in the face of one of them.

When her energy-wrapped hands hit the vampire's head, the head exploded into dust, and the body followed seconds later.

The sun weakens vampires, but the concentrated solar rays of the starbolts are fatal to them.

When Starfire touched the ground, she did not hesitate and began a total attack, killing more than five vampires in the first few seconds.

The vampires tried to sneak up on her by using the cars on the street to get to her blind spot.

Still, Starfire fired at them before they could attack.

The starbolts pierced the car windows and hit their bodies head-on.

"Where is the League?"

Aqualad asked while approaching his friends and dodging their attackers.

"I just received the news that twenty cities across the country are being attacked simultaneously. We're on our own!"

Robin replied.

Robin looked at everyone. He was glad none of his friends got hurt, but he knew he couldn't win this fight right now.

"We have to find a way to level the playing field,"

Robin said and looked around.

He was under pressure until he looked up and saw that thick clouds hid the sun.

"Starfire, fly up there and blow up those clouds!"

Robin shouted.

"Right away!"

Starfire replied, and she flew as fast as she could.

Starbolts are not only used as energy beams; they can also be concentrated and thrown like grenades.

Starfire only used the first option because the explosion was difficult to control.

Starfire's green energy forms a circle around her fists in the sky. She moved both hands and threw these two energy balls at the clouds.

The two energy balls crash into each other in the sky and explode in a bright yellow flash.

This made a hole in the sky through which the sun shone and covered the whole street below.

The vampires below shrank as if they were in pain as soon as the sun illuminated them.

There were others who started to run while looking for any dark place they could find.

"They are weak, let's stop them."

Robin said

Now that they were weaker, it was really possible.

After a few minutes, there are over twenty vampires sitting on the ground in the afternoon sun and tied together by various metal ropes.

"All done, boss,"

Kid Flash said after running several times around the prisoners to check the restraints.

"I've contacted the authorities; they will send people soon,"

Robin informed.

"We have to go help the others in the subway."

Starfire was floating in the air while looking at the hole in the ground where the others fell.

Speedy was so tired that he fell to the bathroom floor and stayed there while panting.

He is badly hurt and has cuts all over his body, and his clothes are almost completely torn.

When the arrows ran out, he used his bow as a stick to fight multiple vampires until it broke, and he found an iron bar and used it as a weapon.

The iron bar is also by his side now.

Raven is unharmed because any vampire threatening her was thrown across the bathroom or crushed by the energy crow she summoned.

Dio suffered some damage as they were alone in the middle of the chaos.

The most severe injury Dio suffered was in his neck, where there is now a straight cut from one side to the other.

A lucky vampire managed to scratch his nail, but he was killed shortly afterward.

The public bathroom where we are has undergone many changes.

The large amount of dust from the vampires' bodies and the water from the pipes they destroyed turned into mud.

In this mud, anyone can see some bones from the skeletons Dio summoned; they served their purpose perfectly.

The ceiling lights and wall tiles were both destroyed.

The only light in the place now is the ten-centimeter hole in the center of the bathroom that goes up to the surface.

They won the battle, but there's no reason to celebrate.

"Come on, we have to go after our vampire and his crazy woman."

Dio said and went to Speedy to help him up.

Surprisingly, he accepted his gesture without saying anything or giving him a mocking look.

"How?"

Raven asked with confusion.

"One of the vampires is on our side."

Dio explained.

The three of them walk slowly out of the bathroom.

The metro station is empty, with the train stopped and its doors open, but the bodies are gone.

Dio didn't know how many vampires died, but he was sure some of them were still with their leader.

"Did you sense anything?"

Dio asked Raven.

"Pain and loneliness over there."

Raven pointed to the tunnel.

They walk slowly and descend onto the train tracks and into the tunnel.

Leaning against the tunnel wall, Andrew is sitting shirtless, wearing only simple black pants, with an axe buried in his heart.

This wound would kill any ordinary vampire, but he's still alive and conscious.

"You're alive,"

Speedy said it without much enthusiasm.

"She escaped..."

Andrew's voice was weak and low.

Dio helped Speedy lean against the wall and crouch down beside him to get a better look at his injuries.

The axe is deep, and there are other severe wounds all over his body, including his neck.

"We need to get help for you."

Dio said to him.

"I have a friend nearby..."

Andrew managed to say.

"We should go after the crazy one."

Speedy suggested.

"No need; we know where she'll be, Speedy."

Raven drew their attention.

She raises her hand, and a black light shines like a lantern while pointing to the wall further ahead.

There's a message written in blood.

"Of course, she's heading there."

Dio sighed after reading the message.

"We'll see you in Gotham, My Love!"
