"Επικαλούμαι το κρύο της θλίψης του ποταμού koʊˈsaɪtəs!"
{I Summon the Cold of Wailing from the River Cocytus!}
Dio released the gas bomb from his mouth, freezing the vampires in front of him in a four-by-two-meter ice wall, which gave them space to fight the wave of enemies.
Usually, this would slow the enemy, but they were fighting vampires.
The wall only gave them seconds until ten vampires with red eyes and fur of various colors jumped over it with their fangs pointed at Dio.
"BOMMMM!"
"BOMMMM!"
Speedy's four explosive arrows pushed them back over the ice wall.
"WE HAVE TO MOVE!"
Andrew roared loudly.
He turned into a vampire again while holding two vampires' necks with both hands.
"Crack!"
"Crack!"
Dio heard the cracks, and the two vampires turned into dust.
Seeing that they were surrounded, Dio thrust his sword into the ground.
"Επικαλούμαι το κρύο της θλίψης του ποταμού koʊˈsaɪtəs!"
{I Summon the Cold of Wailing from the River Cocytus!}
The ground rises in the black fog surrounding them and forms into an igloo.
"Robin, how long!"
Dio screamed through the communicator.
"Kid Flash here, I've already arrived at the location, but I can't get any closer!"
Wally shouted.
"Bang"
"Bang"
"Swish"
"Swish"
The vampires wanted to get in.
"This won't last long; we have to retreat now, kid!"
"I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the vampire is right."
Speedy agreed.
"I'm open to ideas on how to do that!"
Dio shouted to them.
Dio could teleport them away, but he didn't want to exhaust himself so early; there was an army to fight in the city.
"Subway!"
Speedy shouted.
"I agree."
"This isn't a...!"
Before Dio could finish, Andrew had already raised his two hands and slammed them down on the ground with all his strength, which was already fragile due to the ice.
"BOOOOM!"
They fell a few meters below into a wide tunnel of old red bricks with some dim lights on the ceiling.
"That was a stupid idea!"
Dio shouted and stood up.
"What are you talking about? It worked perfectly."
Speedy said.
"We're not underground."
Andrew said.
It didn't take long for Speedy to also see why it wasn't a good idea because a strong light was coming towards them at the end of the tunnel.
"We're in the subway!"
Dio shouted to them while running in the opposite direction of the train.
Fortunately for Speedy, they weren't far from the subway station, but the vampires were already there with about hundreds.
The train passed behind them and stopped at the end of the station.
"We have to defend the passengers."
Dio warned the two.
Without turning around, he heard the train doors opening.
Dio thought this would be the signal to attack, but the vampires still hadn't moved, and he also hadn't heard any sound coming from the train behind them.
"Damn it!"
Speedy exclaimed.
Then Dio turned his back to his enemy and saw the inside of the train.
With the doors open, there is nothing but bodies and blood scattered on the floors and walls.
"So you finally chose a side, my love, and it's not mine."
A feminine voice comes from the other side of the station, from the last train car.
A woman and ten other vampires come out of the train and walk towards them calmly.
They'll soon be attacked from both sides because everyone on the train has turned.
"Mary, please, I beg you, stop this madness."
Andrew pleaded with her, and Dio could see that he still loved her.
Mary's short blood-red hair with a white fringe like Andrew's, black lips and eyes, and red liquid dripping from her lip made her strange.
The way her body is revealed makes it clear that she is a beautiful woman with bright golden eyes.
Mary isn't wearing any clothes; her body is her clothes.
It's as white as snow without marks, with the private parts exposed and yet covered, red lines like tattoos running all over her body.
The only part of this woman's body that doesn't show prostitution is her nails, which are long and black like knives, just like her fingers.
"That's one of the few things I hate about you, my love, your indecisiveness."
Mary went to one of her vampires armed with an axe and took it from him.
"Unlike you, when I make a decision, I don't go back!"
The vampire army is now fighting the others in the upper part of the city.
Dio didn't know how many were there, but he touched his communicator and sent a ping that they agreed.
"Look around, Mary. Do you really think your actions now are anything less than brutal and monstrous!"
Andrew shouted and pointed to the bodies inside the train.
"We are not a facade or playing games here; we are freedom fighters, and they were the oppressors."
Andrew looked at Mary with disgust at those on the train.
"What's the difference between you and your hated humans then?"
"Is this how civilized beings act now?"
Andrew shouted at her as his form returned to human.
"Isn't it? From what I remember, the same race you are protecting now was responsible for the Holocaust, Crusades, wars, and bombings. We fight for survival; they fight just because they have nothing else to do."
"You're crazy, lady."
Speedy said while unable to bear this conversation any longer.
Dio cannot deny the truth in her words, but he also cannot accept her actions.
Mary didn't even pay attention to Speedy and just walked up to Andrew with an axe in her hands.
"I promised myself that I wouldn't give you another chance, and that's it, kill them!"
Mary ordered them to attack Andrew with her axe.
"Light!"
Dio shouted to Speedy, who thought and acted quickly while taking out an arrow and shooting it at the ceiling.
"Thud!"
"HAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
An explosion from the arrow sent a blue flare into the air, which made all vampires except the two strongest cover their faces.
Dio can't hold himself back, even if it makes him feel bad later.
Despite this, he considers every possibility in his head before acting while looking for a possible way to keep them alive.
There's none.
A second after the light went out, with Dio's sword and shield in hand, he dashed forward at super speed while seeing everything in slow motion.
The number of them isn't always a good thing in limited spaces like this, and it can force them to get closer, which he used to decapitate three heads at once.
In his second move, Dio pierced two more in the heart, and finally, he hit the pommel of his sword on his shield while pointing it towards them.
"BOOM!"
The divine explosion scatters the dust of the vampire bodies he just killed against their comrades and explodes them against the subway wall.
"Grrrrrrr!"
Seeing the souls being sucked into his sword as before, Dio paused for a second and tried to ignore it.
There are two vampires on his side.
One is brown, and the other is black with red eyes. They are rolling around on the ground and trying to bite each other's neck.
Mary gave up her axe, and the two are now having their solo fight while Speedy and Dio are fighting against an army.
In his distraction, a vampire manages to jump on his back, and two others hold his two arms to stretch them.
Speedy approached Dio while shooting the one on his back in the head and hitting the one holding his shield with his bow on the chin.
With his shield free, he sank it just above the nose into the face of the other one who let him go, but not before cutting his arm with his claws.
On the other side, Speedy hits the legs of the vampire he attacked before, which knocked him down.
He took a silver arrow from his back and thrust it into his heart to kill him.
Dio saw two more coming from behind Speedy, both armed with iron bars.
Dio teleported in front of him to cut off the head of one, and the other lunged towards him.
Dio defended with his shield and twisted his body to the left, which made him fall on his back.
Before he could get up, Dio pierced his neck to kill him.
A vampire coming from his blind spot was killed by another arrow that went just inches from his nose.
"We're in trouble."
Speedy said while approaching him with another arrow ready.
Their enemies have also realized that they were not easy prey and are regrouping for another attack, this time together.
"How many more?"
Dio asked Speedy in a low voice.
"Four with metal tips, two explosives, and two electric."
Speedy replied in a low voice.
Roy didn't bring many supplies after his mission before coming to Gotham; he had already spent many arrows.
Now, he's using the reserves, which are not enough for their current problem.
Before the attack continued, Andrew flew by to their left while hitting and killing a few vampires.
He didn't stop until he hit the subway wall.
"You were supposed to be the most powerful, but you refuse to drink fresh blood, that's ridiculous."
Mary said in her naked form while again holding an axe.
"BOMMM!"
The wall he crashed through exploded, and Andrew emerged from it in his monstrous vampire form.
"Do you want to see my power!?"
Andrew asked and ran towards Mary to trample the panicking vampires in front of him who didn't know how to fight against a monster.
"Here's my power!"
Andrew shouted while hitting Mary with his giant body against the train to crush its side.
"That's it!"
Mary shouted and hit her nail in Andrew's eye, which made him tremble.
"That's the man I fell in love with, the man who possessed me with strength!"
They didn't have any more time to pay attention to their couple's fight; the vampires attacked again like mad.
"Get down!"
Speedy shouted.
He shot two arrows at once to aim at the ceiling in front of them.
"BOOM!"
"BOOM!"
A lot of what's above them is rock and concrete below ground. It rains down on the vampires like rain while filling the air with dust that blinds them.
After the fall
The was silence.
