Bahamut could no longer contain his anger, unleashing his wrath in a resounding roar that echoed through the air. Southern lords, responding to the call of their King and Hand of the King, had gathered with the necessary provisions for the impending war. Despite their skepticism about the contents of the letters they received, they maintained their loyalty to the King and proceeded northward.
However, as they marched, they bore witness to the destructive battle between Bahamut and Cannibal. The ferocity of their clash left the lords and their men in awe, their legs weakened by the sheer spectacle. The southern lords, having observed Bahamut's merciless torment of his adversary, were filled with fear. As the battle concluded with a mighty roar, the lords were seized by the desire to retreat, fearing that Bahamut might turn his attention towards them.
In the aftermath of the battle, as Bahamut tore apart Cannibal's head, flinging it towards Winterfell, his eyes glowed with an ominous cold energy.
Corpse Queen slowly revealed her presence from the corridor as she advanced towards Rhaenys. With her cold eyes, Rhaenys raised her arm and conjured flames continuously towards Corpse Queen. Onlookers initially believed the problem had been resolved, yet the realization slowly dawned that there was no escape from Rhaenys' flames.
However, only Rhaenys and Bran were aware that these weak flames wouldn't have much effect on Corpse Queen. Unburnt and unharmed, Corpse Queen advanced with a mocking giggle, stating, "I'm sorry. They won't work on me." Yet, Rhaenys responded with a confident smile, saying, "They did."
Suddenly, an unexpected turn of events unfolded as a Valyrian sword pierced through Corpse Queen's body from behind, catching her off guard. The impossible had been achieved, and it was none other than Bahamut, who had possessed Aegon. His foresight had led him to anticipate that Corpse Queen might have infiltrated Winterfell.
Even in her final moments, fiery energy invaded Corpse Queen's body as she smiled and remarked, "Still, you failed to win." Bahamut, understanding the deeper meaning, responded, "No, he loves you." Corpse Queen, still smiling, retorted, "Idiot." Despite using the man she met in the haunted forest for her own purposes, she knew she loved him, and she knew he loved her more than anything else.
As Corpse Queen's body began to burn, Aegon gradually regained control over his body. Confused, he found himself in a dark corridor surrounded by flames. Spotting his sister Rhaenys at the end of the corridor, he asked, "Sister, what are we doing here?" Rhaenys, unable to find the words, replied, "You were possessed."
Meanwhile, outside, the Night King approaching Winterfell on his dragon, sensing the disappearance of Corpse Queen from his consciousness. Despite his undead nature, he felt a profound loss, realizing that he had lost something dear to him. Throughout his long existence, he had endured both life and undeath for her sake, sacrificing his humanity to be with her. As she left his presence, he patiently awaited her return, longing to be with her. Despite achieving his goals, in the end, he failed to fulfill his deepest desire, betrayed by fate and a man who abandoned his promises and existence for an unknown woman.
As he approached Winterfell, another shadow loomed above the Night King's dragon, alerting him to look up. Dark blue flames descended upon him, and the ice dragon, caught off guard, swiftly moved to the side to avoid the attack. To his surprise, Bahamut's claw lashed out, striking the ice dragon across the face. In retaliation, the ice dragon unleashed its icy breath, but Bahamut seized the Night King and moved away from the attack. Bahamut then soared toward Winterfell, with the colossal ice dragon in pursuit.
Observing Jon looking in their direction, Bahamut decided to deal with the ice dragon and threw the Night King towards Jon. As the Night King sailed through the air, Jon and his men leaped to the side to avoid the oncoming threat. From the deep pit, the Night King emerged, striking terror into the hearts of the wildlings and the men accompanying Jon. Recognizing Bahamut's intention, Jon drew his Valyrian longsword and stepped forward to face the Night King in a battle of destiny.
