Aurora stood there, watching him walk away until he was out of sight. Once she was sure he was gone, she exhaled sharply, her breaths coming in ragged gasps. Her legs suddenly felt weak, like jelly, and she found herself leaning heavily against the tree for support. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she tried to catch her breath, but the air seemed to have been sucked out of the world around her.

All she could focus on was the feel of his wet tongue on her neck and his body so close to hers. "What was that?" she whispered to herself, her eyes closed briefly as she tried to steady herself. The remnants of Azrael's touch still lingered on her skin, playing in a repeated loop. She blinked several times, hoping it would go away, but it was of no use.
