Chapter 65: Humanitys Treasure

'Boom, boom, boom, boom—'

Inside the AllSpark compound, embedded in the rocky cliffs, the platform trembled. Dim yellow lights flickered, and a deep rumbling sound echoed from the ground to this location.

Harold raised his neck and instinctively placed his hand on his M9 pistol at his waist. He scanned the ceiling of the platform from left to right, noticing sand, dust, and debris shaking loose from the seams.

Even though there were four football fields' worth of concrete cover underground here, the vibrations from the surface were strong enough to make them feel the ground shaking. The sand was flowing through the cracks, the electrical connections were failing, and the lights were flickering. It was evident that something significant was happening on the surface, and the Sector 7 was about to face an invasion.

"Dr. H'el, we need to get to a secure passage first," Harold said, holding his M9 pistol, his gaze sweeping around the area.

The magnitude of the tremors beneath their feet allowed Harold to guess just how intense the surface bombing was.

"No need to rush, let's wait for the situation to develop," Dr. H'el replied calmly, finishing his coffee and placing the cup on the table.

His gaze had never left Frenzy, a member of the Decepticons' crazy faction. Frenzy, with its small and agile body, easily infiltrated the control room, knocking down the personnel inside. Together with the surface bombing, it banged on the computers, frantically shouting, "Megatron! Megatron! Megatron!" and shutting down the freezing system.

"Freezer failure!"

"Intruder alert! Intruder alert! Intruder killed central control room personnel, be on guard! Be on guard!"

"Intruder! Intruder!"

"NBE-1 compound power failure, freezer system malfunction!"

"Restart the freezer system!"

"No good, the freezer system is locked by an unknown program, and it's warming NBE-1. We can't control it."

"Smash the main system! Smash the computers!"

"Activate the backup generator!"

"The backup generator is affected by the bombing, can't generate enough power!"

"All personnel, move to the NBE-1 compound, bring over the liquid nitrogen delivery pipe, and manually maintain the freezing state of NBE-1."

The Sector 7's alarms blared, and Harold's walkie-talkie received an urgent message.

The entire place plunged into a tense wartime state as personnel hurriedly moved about.

Harold watched Dr. H'el's seemingly relaxed figure while silently drawing his M9 pistol from his waist, flicking off the safety. He remained vigilant, keeping an eye on the figure before him. If Dr. H'el made any unusual moves, he'd reward him with a bullet.

Rapid and hurried footsteps reached the observatory room. Tom wore a stern expression and, as usual, knocked before entering. Upon seeing Dr. H'el still gazing at the cube from the observatory, his feelings were mixed between relief and anxiety.

"Dr. H'el, you must leave the place. We've learned from two high school kids and the newly captured yellow robot that an evil extraterrestrial machine force is invading, thawing their leader, and their target is the cube."

Although Dr. Hale had only been in the Sector 7 for a week, Tom had already been impressed by his ever-evolving research results. Based on these few days of research, the foundational materials within the basic materials were conveyed with endless possibilities. They were enough to enable humanity to build spacecraft capable of reaching space within the next decade.

The foundational materials for the next space age, the materials for the next era, were all in Dr. H'el's hands. Tom believed that Dr. H'el would be a genius who would influence the next hundred years of humanity, the next Einstein. It was of utmost importance not to lose him.

"Oh, what about all of you?" Dr. H'el chuckled lightly.

"We're insignificant. Dr. H'el, you are more important than everyone in the entire Sector 7 combined."

"We will do our utmost to protect the cube and the research data. But your safety is the new trajectory of humanity. It's crucial. Please leave immediately."

Tom could feel the vibrations from the surface bombings underneath his feet, and he was filled with anxiety.

The cube undoubtedly held immense research value, but that was before Dr. H'el appeared. In just a few days, Dr. H'el had achieved results that researchers in this place hadn't accomplished in a hundred years. With the discovery of metallic elements, elastic metals, liquid metals, and other groundbreaking materials, he had dramatically advanced humanity's foundational materials, propelling humanity into the space age.

Achievements that were once unattainable due to foundational materials, such as high-energy capacitors, controlled nuclear fusion, space elevators, lunar bases, interstellar colonization, and more, all now had a glimmer of hope with the advent of metallic elements.

This was no longer just one person's endeavor. Dr. H'el had become a treasure for all of humanity, and he couldn't be lost.

"Weren't the yellow robots enemies of the frozen NBE-1?"

"Don't worry, Tom. I want to see how they control this colossal cube," the human treasure, the new Einstein, Dr. H'el, said with a calm face.

Inadvertently, he had become humanity's new hope for progress.

Tom had originally intended to persuade Dr. H'el to seek refuge. He knew that any researcher, when faced with something like the cube, would find it hard to abandon. So, he had prepared to use a stun gun to incapacitate the doctor and take him away.

However, Dr. H'el's unshakable confidence, like a towering mountain, increased the pressure on Tom and made it difficult for him to act.

"I'll go release the yellow robot and have it cooperate with humans to control the cube and move it out of the Sector 7," Tom quickly understood Dr. H'el's intention. "Dr. H'el, please protect yourself. General Harold, please protect Dr. H'el with your life. He is the future!" With those words, Tom turned and left.

Harold glanced at Tom's departing figure, then turned to Dr. H'el. His gaze pierced through the observatory's glass, focusing on the cube below, and he spoke in a solemn tone, "Dr. H'el, do you understand the cube well?"

"I wouldn't say 'well,' but I understand it slightly more than you, who can only draw energy from its surface."

"Slightly more? To what extent?"

"Just the curvature folds within its internal space and the vast amount of source code it contains."

"???"

This ventured into Harold's realm of knowledge.

It seemed like more than just a slight understanding.

Harold nodded thoughtfully.

"Watching it control the cube, does it serve any purpose in your understanding of the cube?" Harold's thumb, holding the M9 pistol, gently rubbed the gun's cold texture.

At this moment, his vigilance was at its peak. Dr. H'el's mystery was like a fog, and he was deeply driven to uncover it.

Perhaps within that fog lay an abyss.

While Harold spoke, in the corridor leading to the cube's chamber, a colossal yellow mechanical figure, standing five meters tall, arrived with a group of heavily armed individuals and two high school students. They stood beneath the cube's chamber.

The yellow Chevrolet headlights were arranged across its chest, the two car doors extended behind it as wings, and its legs resembled wheels. The yellow armor parts intertwined with the mechanical body, revealing a unique and smooth mechanical beauty.

Accompanied by humans, it stood beneath the cube, raising its yellow mechanical head and looking at the cube before extending its hands upward.
