Ink Sun Dragon

[Geno points acquired: 100 ordinary geno points; 86 primitive geno points; 92 mutant geno points; 7 sacred geno points]

'Almost done with the mutant geno tally.' After a week of travel, Bian had almost maxed out his mutant and primitive geno points. He had used up eight more scent erasers and had to drain the vitality of the black longsword tree to keep the other geno plants healthy.

They had travelled quite a distance, avoiding direct combat as Bian used the Atlatl to one-shot primitive and Mutant beasts alike. The quill would break in the middle making them unusable, but that was okay since he had over a thousand of them.

Hope spirit brought out a flower which looked like a purple rose. Its color would change to red once they approached the invisible walking shelter.

All of Bian's internal injuries had healed up. His ribs were also back in place, healing faster than Bian expected. He expected that in a week, he would be able to engage in combat once more.

It was easier finding lone mutant beasts than fighting swarms of primitive beasts. He was wearing a green metallic armor he had gotten from killing a mutant ant. He also got a great shield from a mutant crab as well as several other beast souls.

Still even with all his gains, Bian was starting to worry about this Luck Shelter. They had travelled for half a month but had not approached the walking shelter, at least Hope Spirit's rose had not shown the slightest reaction.

He used the Dongxuan aura to mask their life force while simultaneously scouting ahead to avoid the numerous dangers lying in wait in the forest. All the geno trees they had come across, were protected by sacred-blood creatures.

Bian could only wait till he was less injured before he tried hunting a sacred-blood creature again. Now that all his internal injuries, save for his ribs, had healed, he reckoned it was about time to hunt another sacred-blood beast.

It was already late into the evening when Bian decided to hunt a sacred-blood creature, he planned to do this the next day. Although they would keep traveling at night, it wouldn't be wise to fight a creature in the dark.

As they were walking he ground beneath him rumbled slightly. He opted to ignore it, not thinking much of it. Then it happened again causing Bian to frown. He looked at Hope Spirit, she was also confused by the tremor.

BANG!!!

In the far distance, a large wave of water rose into the sky before falling back down. The sheer magnitude made it look like it was retreating in slow motion. Bian was left in awe watching the pillar of water descend.

"We should avoid that." Hope Spirit said, planning to travel away from the large pillar of water. She had not finished speaking when both her and Bian saw a most harrowing scene.

Several tentacles fell from the sky like world destroying pillars, each lash unleashed by the tentacles sent tremors traveling through the ground. Even from here, Bian could feel the impact of the beast and whatever it was fighting.

'Super creature!' Bian screamed in his heart. Hope Spirit looked drained as she pointed at the tentacles descending from the skies.

"That is the Ink Sun Dragon. It is a super creature of immense strength, nearly unstoppable during the brightest of days." Hope Spirit said, luckily they were far from whatever the beast was fighting.

Several screeches and howls echoed as beasts ran away from the commotion. After a few minutes, the forest was dead silent. Bian gave Hope spirit a knowing look.

"What! no no no. You can't go near them, just the shockwaves alone could kill you!" She nearly yelled.

"High risk, high rewards. I also have a plan so don't worry. Besides the day is almost over, that means the Ink Sun Dragon is no longer at its strongest." Bian wasn't throwing away his life, he had a plan of action.

'I don't have a cheat system. If I don't make a way for myself who will.' Bian couldn't help but remember what his dad said, his lips curled up into a smile.

"Don't look so sad, I'm not going to throw my life away." Bian embraced Hope Spirit easing her nerves, he needed her to be on her best game as she would be alone for a while.

After breaking the hug, Bian fell into the ground. He moved through the ground faster than he could ever run on it. He couldn't scratch the skin of super creatures and growing a super pet would take tens of years even with the waterdrops. Thankfully, Bian didn't need to land the final blow on a creature to get its beast soul.

After some minutes of using Terraslip, he had to stop abruptly. The tremors on the ground were far too serious for him to move through it. He had to continue the journey on foot, running as fast as he could.

He soon caught sight of what the Ink Sun Dragon was fighting, it was a very long snake whose scales were whiter than virgin snow. It's beautiful body was riddled with several scars, some of which exposed the bones underneath.

Bian could see the giant octopus like creature had also lost several appendages. Sadly these injuries weren't fatal as the tentacles grew back at a speed visible to the naked eyes.

Bian didn't dare to stand and observe, he buried himself in the earth and summoned the beast soul of the Stone Devil Beast. A lizard tattoo appeared on his back, turning his body to stone.

This completely removed his presence, allowing him to observe without alerting any of the two monstrosities. Even if they saw him, they would think he was just a statue.

The snow-white snake was already at the end of its tether. It recoiled in pain and used it fast reflexes to bite off another of the Sun Ink Dragon's tentacle, but it couldn't deal its flying assailant any permanent damage.

Bian felt like if he was swallowed by that snake, he would have no chance of survival. Its gaping maw was as dark as a black hole and could swallow anything in the world. The White Snake was undoubtedly a top notch super creature but it had faced off against the wrong opponent.

Without the means to hurt the Ink Sun Dragon, it could only wait for death. The White Snake seemed to have also realized this. It hesitantly left behind the tree it had been catering to for thousands of years and began to flee. The Ink Sun Dragon wouldn't allow it though.

'I saw a pillar of water earlier, so why is there no water body nearby.' Bian felt uneasy, especially because he knew how powerful his intuition had become with the spirit pillar absorbing the Intent Mantra.

Bian unpetrified himself and swam through the earth, in the opposite direction the snake was headed. He looked up in horror, as the tentacles of the Ink Sun Dragon spread out, absorbing what little sunlight it could.

From the beak of the foul creature, a ball of light as dark as the void began to grow. The Ink Sun Dragon hovered over the retreating snake as it built up the dark energy ball.

The White Snake felt threatened and opened it giant mouth to eat the ground, its huge body began to disappear into the floor. Bian gritted his teeth and went against his natural instinct to flee from the ball of dark light.

He released the Emperical Aura drowning the floor, trees, skies and beasts in an indigo hue. The Ink Sun Dragon panicked when it was covered in this light. It fired the ball of dark light towards the ground where the snake was retreating, setting of an explosion equal in power to a nuclear war head.

Bian was far away from the point of impact, but the shockwaves displaced mountains of dirt and rocks flinging him out from the ground. As he was sent airborne like a ragdoll, he did not dare summon beast soul wings, afraid he would draw the attention of the Ink Sun Dragon.

He saw the beast holding onto the tree with one tentacle while three more pulled the barely recognizable body of the snake out from the ground.

'Five more seconds.' Bian thought praying for the Ink Sun Dragon to hurry up.

Two tentacles held the body of the snake, while two more dragged its head separating it from the body. Blood poured down like a river from the body of the decapitated snake.

[Super Creature Ivory Serpent killed. The beast soul has been acquired. Meat edible. Eat the Life Geno Essence to gain 0 to 10 super geno points randomly.]

Bian felt a huge structure, even bigger than the Ink Sun Dragon, walk into the edge of the Emperical Aura. He would have loved to study it, but with the Ivory Serpent dead, he would be putting himself in danger if he left the aura active.

The Indigo light vanished as quickly as it appeared. Bian saw the massive Ink Sun Dragon carry the body of the Ivory Serpent along with the geno tree it had been watching over.

The tree looked like a spearhead and seemed to be growing only one fruit in the center of its branches. Bian couldn't make out more of the details as the Ink Sun Dragon flew into the skies, the clouds obstructing his view.

"Since you took the life essence, you could have left behind the body." Bian said in a frustrated tone. Then he turned around and quickly ran back to where he left Hope Spirit.

[Type of Beat Soul of Ivory Serpent; Container.]

'A container? I heard someone got an arrow container before and another person had gotten a sword container, but I have never heard of anyone getting just a container.'

Although Bian was curious as to what type of container the Ivory Serpent could be, he put aside his curiosity and dashed to Hope Spirit. Most of the animals had evacuated from the forest leaving behind an eerie silence.

As Bian got closer, he could feel that she was in distress. All the Bone Tamus were also dead. Bian hurriedly summoned the Silver Archerfish Atlatl as well as the one-time use arrow from the Blood Thorn Beast.

The atlatl was sacred-blood class and the arrow was a mutant one-use beast soul. He placed the arrow in the atlatl and jumped through the trees taking aim at Hope Spirit's assailant.

It was the Hellfire Lion with seven gene locks opened. The end of its tail was a ball of dark red flames and six more balls of those flames trailed up the tail. Its mane wavered in the air like flowing fire.

Bian launched the arrow towards the eye of the beast. It retaliated by forming seven fireballs and fusing them into one, shooting it at the incoming arrow.

There was a steam explosion, the blood red arrow flew into the eye of the Hellfire Lion causing it to roar loudly in pain. Seeing as Bian summoned an even bigger arrow, the Hellfire Lion turned tail and ran into the forest.

"The king of the jungle is just a cat in the end." Bian shook his head in dismay. The new arrow he had summoned was primitive, and couldn't scratch the fur of the Hellfire Lion.

If not for the fact that the blood arrow was a one-time use beast soul, which was further augmented by the weakness of the Lion's element, their little duel could have turned out differently.

Thankfully Hope Spirit was still alive, she was injured but alive. The same couldn't be said for their beasts of burden. All five Bone Tamus had been killed, six of the trees had been burnt to a crisp, utterly unsalvageable.

"At least the sacred-blood tree isn't destroyed." Bian tried to cheer up Hope spirit.

"It's over. We don't have the mounts to carry the tree anymore and we still haven't found luck shelter." Hope Spirit began to lose hope.
