"What Ghost!" Liang Ping'an still didn't believe, "You're scaring yourself. After the woman in red hung herself, there were no rumors of ghosts on the mountain. The tales of ghosts on Hanging Neck Mountain were nonsense we spread so we could have affairs without being caught. We've been coming here for seven years, so how come we haven't stumbled upon a ghost even once?"

Liu Yuhong was initially scared of ghosts too, but gradually Liang Ping'an bolstered her courage. They found that doing it in such a terrifying place was more thrilling. Over the years, though, they hadn't seen a single ghost. She did, however, dress up as a ghost a few times at Liang Ping'an's instigation, scaring the villagers away from Hanging Neck Mountain.
