Chapter 24: I want to go to him

Ivy beckoned them in and closed the door. She was glad it was them and not some killer man who was after her life.

"We heard what happened. Are you okay?" Clark asked and she gave a nodding response. Jones saw the bandage on her face and tsked.

"Those bloody men. How dare they lay their hands on you? Now your face is all patched up, princess. What are you going to do?" Jones asked in a way that made Ivy laugh for the first time that night.

"It's alright, Jones. It's just a cut and it will not in any way disfigure my face. So you don't have to worry." Ivy assured with a warm smile.

"That's good to hear." Jones sighed with relief and patted her head.

She looked at Clark, whose expression was as serious as the last time. He noticed her gaze and looked at her. His eyes met with her inquisitive eyes which got him confused. Wanting to answer her thoughts, he said,

"Is there anything you want to know?"
