I walked quickly down the hall and through the living room to the kitchen, where I’d last seen Luke. But he was nowhere to be seen.
How had I been so oblivious to my surroundings? Where has he gone? My eyes searched the kitchen and landed on a door with a small window. I looked through it and saw the barn. “Yes!”
I tried desperately to pull the door open, but it must have been frozen shut. I tried several more times, pulling on the handle with all my might but it wouldn’t budge.
“Luke!” I yelled in desperation, pounding on the door.
I stepped back.
“Okay, Andy, cool your jets. How else can you get to the barn?” I said to myself.
Just then, I noticed that the door had swung open.
“The front door is a pretty good option.”
There sat Luke on the doorstep, facing the barn with one arm wrapped around Blue. Still a comedian despite a broken heart. I blushed. Was he holding the door shut during my whole dramatic escapade?
“Luke!” I proclaimed, tearfully.
