Ch.60

As I reached out to the Orb, I slowly pushed through its natural resistance. Then after what felt like hours of intense struggle, I broke through the barrier. As soon as I broke through the barrier, I was greeted by a world of complete darkness in all directions. I couldn't see more than a foot (30cm) away from me. Then a huge set of red piercing eyes were seen above me.

"HUMAN," an extremely deep and gravelly voice greets me.

Without a second thought, I try to pull out my presence, however, something is preventing me from leaving.

"Not yet, we've just started talking," the voice says, which I can only presume is Giratina.

"What brings you to my domain? Curiosity, ignorance, stupidity?" Giratina asks me with some venom behind their words.

"Yes, all of the above," I say while trying to build up my power to break through and leave this place.

"Honesty, good. Though I mean you no harm… For now, so you can relax and not exhaust yourself," Giratina says seeming to know I was building up my power.

"It has been too long since I've last had company… Is the outside world in turmoil?" Giratina asks me as I hold off from attacking, though still very much on guard.

"Uh, define turmoil?" I say since I'm not sure what Giratina is referring to.

"Last time someone visited me, was to ask for my help in fighting Arceus. I tried to help, but that bastard had many others who helped them subdue me," Giratina says with a growl at the end.

"No, Arceus hasn't been seen in thousands of years. Becoming more of a myth or legend as people haven't seen them in so long. Much like many other older ancient Pokémon," I say shrugging relaxing a bit now because I can feel no hostility from Giratina.

"I see… So where was my key left?" Giratina asks me changing the topic.

"You mean the orb?" I ask him back confirming that this is the key.

"Yes," Giratina says.

"We found it deep in a mountain, on a pyramid in an ancient lost city," I say as I have no reason to lie to this Pokémon who is older than time itself.

"Interesting… And you were smart enough to not break through right away. Not without a secured exit," Giratina says since it appears Professor Oak's machines can 'pull' me out at a moment's notice. Now, I can feel a small connection made with one of them ready to pull me out at a moment's notice.

"Lots have changed since you last saw the world," I say as Giratina goes quiet while staring at me with a soul-piercing gaze.

"So it seems…," Giratina says while continuing to stare at me.

We then sit there for a few moments of intense quietness. I'm on the edge of pulling on my lifeline, but just before I do Giratina speaks back up.

"What do you know about Arceus, is it that they made the Universe and were the first to reside before existence itself?" Giratina says making me hesitate since their voice suggests another truth. Seeing my hesitation, Giratina continues.

"Well, that is not the whole truth. There were others outside Arceus that existed. Myself being one of them, with Dialga, Palkia, and one other called Eternatus. We all together created what is known today. Then a falling out occurred between each of us," Giratina says along with some aggravation in their voice now.

"After we created life itself, we felt disappointed in how things were going. Arceus was content with letting life sort itself out, while I wanted to make things balanced, as they should be. While Eternatus was feeding off the chaos that was happening from our creations," Giratina says with more and more aggravation seeping into their voice.

"So a war of the heavens broke out, consuming much of what we created. However, Arceus along with Dialga and Palkia were able to defeat myself and Eternatus. Locking me in an alternate dimension we find ourselves in. While I'm unsure what they did with Eternatus," Giratina says as their emotions boil over and then just as quickly get reeled back in.

"During my time here, in the beginning, all I did was plot how to get my revenge and right the balance of the world. When my first visitor came, I jumped at the chance to start my plot. However, as you can see that once again didn't turn out well. As Arceus had even more help when I came out," Giratina says with a defeated sigh.

"Now, after having more time to think. I realized I no longer care, what happens, happens. I just hope when you leave here, you can see the truth of this world. Since it is not what it appears and Arceus is not your ally or protector," Giratina says pulling back their presence and disappearing back into the darkness.

I stood there in silence taking in everything they told me. Before pulling on my lifeline and returning back to the real world. Where Professor Oak and Cynthia are staring at me. I saw that not even a minute passed from my time in that world.

"Lucas, you ok?" Cynthia asks me with a worried look as Professor Oak is giving me a very curious one.

"Uhm, yeah, I'm fine," I say while making sure to not forget anything Giratina said to me.

"So…" Professor Oak says giving me an expecting look.

"Right… So I met a Pokémon older than time itself. One that helped Arceus create everything we know today. They are named Giratina," I say to them while rubbing my eyes with thoughts swirling around my head.

"Giratina… interesting," Professor Oak says while writing down what I said.

"So, they confirmed the existence of Arceus, which hasn't been seen in over a thousand years. Along with stating they helped create the universe… What did this Giratina look like?" Professor Oak asks me while making notes.

"Like a large gray draconic Pokémon with three gold half-rings on each side of its long neck. Its head has a gold crown-like object surrounding it with two large horns pointing sideways. A thick black stripe runs vertically along its front with five red horizontal stripes. It has two large black ghostly wings with three red tips on each that can resemble claws. Those wings looked like they could change shape as if made of a liquid or gas," I say remembering what Giratina looked like from my past life.

"Very interesting," Professor Oak says nodding his head while taking notes.

"Professor… I need to keep that Orb with me. There are some things I want to look into and if needed I want to be able to reach back out to Giratina. I trust it doesn't mean me harm," I say to Professor Oak, as I now need to look into what Giratina told me.

"Hmm… Very well, you did find it originally. Plus I doubt I will find anything else out without your help. Just promise to tell me any new discoveries you find about this," Professor Oak says and I nod my head.

"I will, though no one except us must know about this Orb, for now. I fear it may bring unwanted attention otherwise," I say as Professor Oak nods his head, while Cynthia gives me an even more worried look.

"Lucas, are you sure that is a good idea?" Cynthia asks me.

"Not a hundred percent, but do you trust me?" I say to her while she gives me a hard look before sighing and nodding her head.

"I trust you, just tell me if anything changes please," Cynthia says and I nod my head.

"I will," I say while standing up and grabbing the Orb with my hands.

As soon as I touch the Orb, I feel Giratina reach out and then sense me before retracting their presence. I then felt as if I was marked, not physically or mentally, but if my soul was marked. Though deep down, I trusted that Giratina meant me no harm, but might actually be my ally in this.

The Orb then disappears as I feel it connected with me through my soul. I could call on the Orb anytime and it would reappear. At the same time, I felt my powers skyrocket like I could rival Mew or Mewtwo in Psychic ability. Plus now my ability seems to have no end to growth and I can reach heights never imagined before. Both Professor Oak and Cynthia stared in surprise at the sudden disappearance of the Orb.

"What–" Professor Oak is about to ask.

"The Orb made a connection with me, don't worry I have a gut feeling I'm doing the right thing," I say dismissing their worry. Though now even Professor Oak looks at me with worry but nods his head. Cynthia looks even more worried but trusts me also.

"Samuel, get back home dinner is going to be ready soon. Also please bring Lucas and Cynthia with you," Cherry was heard over the office phone, as it seemed she could speak through it without Professor Oak having to answer the phone.

"Right, let's get back home before my wife makes me sleep on the couch. Lucas, I trust you," Professor Oak says as he walks toward the elevator.

"I trust you too, just please be careful," Cynthia says as we follow after Professor Oak.

"I will," I say though now I know I will be running into more trouble sooner than later.

We then head back to Professor Oak's home, where Blue and his wife are already helping Cherry set the table and bring the food out. A few minutes after we arrived, Red, his wife, and Ash showed up too. Everyone sits down and begins having small talk.

"Wait?! Are you the guy that almost beat my Dad?!" Ash says as we are talking while pointing to me accusingly.

"Yes," I say while looking at Ash with a smirk.

Ash glares at me harshly with his tiny toddler eyes. Though to everyone else he just looks like a cute angry kid. Everyone chuckles at his look, which only makes Ash more annoyed and directs it all toward me.

"When I become a trainer, I'm gonna beat you and my Dad!" Ash says with a very confident and determined look.

"I'll hold you to that," I say with a smile as Ash just continues to glare at me. While Red pats his head happy that his son is already determined to become a trainer.

Cynthia and I then spend the night here with Professor Oak and his wife Cherry. Taking up their guest room, the following morning we have breakfast with the two. Then Cynthia and I say our goodbyes before leaving the house.

"So where to now?" Cynthia asks me as I think for a bit.

"Let's head to the Kalos Region. There is something there I want to see and possibly add my last team member to my roster," I say to Cynthia who nods her head.

"Alright, how are we gonna get there?" Cynthia asks me and I smile at her.

"What?" Cynthia says.

"I can do this now," I say grabbing her side before teleporting us to Cinnabar Island.

"You can teleport us now?" Cynthia says looking around and seeing the change in scenery.

"Yep, though only if I've been there before. So we are gonna have to get on a cruise to the Kalos region from here," I say with a shrug as Cynthia appears to be imagining the possibilities with my new power.

"That means we can visit our families anytime!" Cynthia says as I nod my head agreeing with her.

"Awesome! Now let's book the trip," Cynthia says grabbing my hand and dragging me toward the dock to book a trip to the Kalso Region.

We have to wait a week for the next trip, during which we spend hanging out at my childhood home. Where Cynthia and my Dad only grew closer, while I was feeling the connection I have with Giratina slowly growing as long as I want it to. The more I let it grow the stronger my powers become, but at the same time so does the possibility of being discovered by Arceus.
