A Mother's Instinct (1)

Mikael strolled through the corridor, noticing that the familiar path he was taking felt longer today. That could be because, although he was better than in previous days, his steps were still unsteady, each one shaky.

Despite this, he was determined to express his gratitude to Madam Isabel for sending him flowers to lift his spirits during his recovery.

The soft sound of wheels rolling on the floor echoed as Beth carefully pushed the refreshment trolley. Eventually, when they got to Madam Isabel's room, Mikael stood in front of its doors.

He took a moment to ready himself before lifting his hand to knock.

He tapped the door with his knuckles, and the noise echoed through the walls of the hallway, letting them know that they were outside Madam Isabel's room.

Mikael waited for a response, and soon enough, there were footsteps approaching from within the room. A maid swiftly came to open the door, welcoming Mikael into Madam Isabel's room.
