Respectfully taken away

Meanwhile, Evangeline looked at Alexander, who was carrying her with a serious expression on his face.

"Where are you taking me? The dorm is not that way," she narrowed her eyes.

"Of course, I know," Alexander mused.

"Then why the hell are you taking me to your- car?" Evangeline widened her eyes.

Was this what they called daylight kidnapping? Can she scream? Will people help her? But seeing how this was one of the Cane brothers and the most mysterious one, she didn't think anyone would help a girl who is barely making her ends meet.

That's how society works. They don't want to help the weak to avoid offending the strong

"Well, can't you see? To save you from humiliation, I took off my coat and pulled you in my arms, which resulted in my white shirt getting stained too," Alexander said, and Evangeline looked into his eyes.

"Sounds like a 'you' problem to me. Isn't this problem created by you in the first place? Why did you feel the need to take my shake when you can always buy one?" Evangeline scoffed, and Alexander rolled his eyes.

"Wait. Even if you are going to get yourself a new outfit or whatever, why the hell am I dragged into this?" She asked.

"Your observation skills are really poor, Evangeline. I am not dragging you, I respectfully taking you with me. And regarding, why you are coming with me, there are several reasons," he mused.

"Is that so? Enlighten me, oh Mr. Alexander Cane," Evangeline narrowed her eyes.

"Well, I am not in the mood to explain anything to you. Now keep quiet if you don't want me to drop you on the ground. Because I won't leave you here. So I will drop you, and then hold you back," Alexander said, and Evangeline shut her lips immediately, making him look at her.

He pushed her into the back seat before sitting inside and putting up the partition.

"Where are we going? You can at least tell me that, right?" Evangeline asked with a sigh.

"To the mall," Alexander said.

"I don't have enough money to waste on clothing. I am barely making ends meet," Evangeline groaned.

"Can we go to some local store at least?" Evangeline asked.

"I'll buy you one," Alexander said without looking at her.

"Why would you do that? I don't like someone buying me stuff. If you want to throw money, just give me cash. I am okay with online money too," Evangeline said, and Alexander took a deep breath before he turned off the screen.

He placed the phone in the side area of the car before he turned to her.

"I don't disrespect anyone like this. I know people like you put self-respect above everything. So stop joking," Alexander looked into her eyes, and Evangeline gulped.

Well, she wasn't lying right now. She was really okay with receiving the money. After all, it was his fault at the end of the day, wasn't it?

And what the hell was he talking about self-respect? It would've been compensation, right? Why is he making it sound so cheap? It's not. It's normal.

Evangeline looked at him, ready to say everything she talked to herself in her mind.

"Well, you can disrespect me," She said, widening her eyes when she realized this was definitely not what she talked to herself about.

What the hell? She looked out of the window to calm her messy mind, and Alexander suppressed the urge to smile at her behavior.

Soon the car stopped in front of a mall, and Evangeline looked at the grandeur of it with gritted teeth.

There is no way any shop in their building will be in her budget. No way she is spending her entire month's worth of salary on a piece of cloth.

"Let's go,"

"I am not coming," Evangeline said, and Alexander took a deep breath.

"I am not asking, Evangeline. I am telling you to come out so we can go. This is not a negotiation you can make," Alexander said.

"I am not going inside that expensive as fuck shop," Evangeline plastered her body on the car's door, and Alexander took a deep breath.

"Look, I really try to be civil with you. It's always you, who don't leave me with no choice," Alexander said before he grabbed her ankle, making her widen her eyes.

"Yo! What the hell is wrong with you?" Evangeline looked at him in shock, as he pulled her towards the door with a jerk, her face only inches away from his as he was looming over the door.

"Stop being childish. Come with me nicely or I can carry you inside that mall in ten different positions, and I assure you, carrying you like a sack of potato with your ass dangling in the air would be the easiest one, and I would love that too. Do you want a demo or are you going to obey now?" Alexander looked at Evangeline with angry eyes, promising nothing good, and Evangeline gulped before looking at him angrily.

After a few thoughtful seconds, she extended her hands for him and he smiled.

"Good girl," he said before he grabbed her hands, and pulled her in to pick her up bridal style again.

Without thinking twice, he entered the first biggest store he could, and Evangeline placed her head on his chest to hide her face.

"What are you doing?" Alexander mused, and Evangeline shushed him.

"I am hiding my face so that no one recognizes me with you," Evangeline said, and Alexander shook his head before he grabbed a random dress from the display and walked straight to the changing room.

"How can I help you, sir?" The sales girl immediately recognized the expensive suit he was wearing, and he shook his head.

"Just don't let anyone enter this area for the next ten minutes," Alexander said, and the sales girl bowed before leaving.

"What are you doing? Why do you have to spend so much money uselessly?" Evangeline asked, and Alexander smirked.

"Just get inside the changing room," Alexander pushed her into the room, and Evangeline was about to close the door when he placed his foot ahead.

"Hey, how will I change if -"

"Let's talk about why you were respectfully taken by me," Alexander walked inside the room, making her widen her eyes.
