Werewolves in the night

The next morning, a meeting was held to fix the date for the coronation of the new king. Raziel brought Luciana to the meeting with him, and he introduced her to the rest of the council members who had not met her.

As expected, most of them objected to her being the queen as she had nothing to offer the kingdom based on her background. But Raziel didn't listen to them.

"Your highness, over my dead body would a human become my queen." A man said as he stood up.

Raziel then signalled to one of his guards. "Take him and have him killed."

"Yes your highness." The guard bowed. Everyone gasped. Even Luciana was surprised. She wondered if he had lost his mind.

"Your highness, I am sorry if I have offended you. I beg for your mercy. Please spare my life." The man offered a deep bow, his voice filled with fear.

"I thought you said she would only be queen over your dead body, so I wanted to kill you. She would be queen either way."
