Blood experiment

The maid princess Evelyn ordered to find out who Luciana came to her. The princess was busy enjoying a massage session from different servants that the king sent to her, when the stupid human maid came to interrupt.

"Who gave you the right to enter into my room?" Evelyn asked the lowly maid.

"But... but your highness... you sent me to find out..." Before the maid could complete what she was going to say, the princess zoomed to her, taking the maids attending to her unaware. Evelyn slapped the human with her vampire strength that she fell down and spat out blood. "That should teach you to learn your place."

The maid held her stinging cheek, trying to hold back a sob. She was only doing what she was asked.

"And it took you a whole day to deliver? How very useless of you." Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Now report." She ordered.

"Your highness?" The maid called in surprise. She thought the princess didn't need her report anymore.

"My next slap will actually make your teeth fall out." Evelyn threatened, and the maid visibly shivered in fear.

"The girl is a slave your highness. She... she was bought by the prince. She..."

"What is her job here?" Evelyn cut her off.

"Nothing your highness. The prince does not let them work." She choked out, even her teeth were stained with blood.

"What are they slaves for if they are not made to work? They will get lazy. In my kingdom, slaves are actually treated like slaves." She rolled her eyes. "Where does she stay?"

"In the building close..."

"Don't bother. Just show me. I should pay her a visit."

The maid nodded and led the princess out.

The guards in front of the house where the slaves stayed were surprised to see the princess there. They bowed, but she didn't even spare them a glance.

"What is her name?" She asked the maid.

"I... I couldn't get it your hi..." Before she could complete her sentence, another slap landed on her face. She was sure that her five fingers would be imprinted on her face. "After wasting a whole day. Now get out."

The maid, even though her face hurt, she still thanked her stars and ran away. Evelyn then walked in like she owned the place, searching for the girl who had dared to walk beside her husband to be.

Luciana was preparing to visit the library when Rebecca barged in.

"The princess request to see the girls."

Luciana frowned. Now they have to cut her research time. But still, she went to the living room with the other girls.

Evelyn looked through the lowly humans, and it was not difficult to spot the one she was looking for. Her fiery red hair, and sickly body revealed her. She wondered what the prince was doing with her. Was he sleeping with this thing? She quickly sauntered to the girl and roughly pulled her by the hair, pulling it hard, almost tearing the human's skin.

"I saw you with my prince yesterday. What were you doing with him?" She pulled her hair harder, wanting the human to cry from the pain, but the human had no expression on her face. She just let her grab her hair without fighting back.

"He helped me treat my wound." Luciana told her the truth, which only made the princess flare in anger.

Soon a guard came running in.

"My princess, please the prince would not be pleased. He forbade anyone from..."

The guard was slapped across his face before he could finish talking.

"Who gave you the right to interrupt me?" She then turned to Luciana. "Prince Raziel is mine alone."

"I have no plan of taking him from you." Luciana stated, despite the pain on her head. She almost couldn't stop herself from rolling her eyes. These spoilt and insecure nobles!

"You dare..." Evelyn threw her on the floor. "I will be back for you." She then turned to the guard. "And you, follow me. You should be punished to teach you your place."

She then left with the guard following her.

One of the girls ran to Luciana.

"Are you okay?"

"I am fine."

"That's what she deserves." Rebecca said. "I warned you to stay away from the prince."

"We all know you want him Rebecca, but sadly, you can't get his attention." Luciana told her, loud enough for all the girls to hear.

"I'm am Lady Rebecca to you." Rebecca quickly stated to cover up her shame. She could even see the measly humans laughing.

"When you get to that level, I will address you as such." Luciana said as she got up from the ground.

Evelyn then went to look for Raziel, but she couldn't find him. With her frustration, she punished all the servants she came across, especially the humans. They couldn't even help her find the prince.

Later that day, a knight came to fetch Luciana. Rebecca went to call her out.

"The prince said you should meet him in five minutes at the gates." He informed her in Rebecca's presence, and Luciana turned to give her a mocking smile.

"I should go. I don't want to keep him waiting." She said tauntingly. "Take care wolfie." She then left with the knight.

Rebecca felt her blood boil. She couldn't do anything to her, but the princess can. She decided to go inform the princess.

Rebecca was shocked to receive a slap from the princess for failing to stop Luciana. She thought she could befriend her. Her eyes stung, and the tears began to fall.

Meanwhile Luciana entered the a royal carriage with four horses with Raziel, and the coachman drove off.

Luciana closed her eyes, and rested her head on the back rest of the seat.

"Did you get new injuries?" Raziel asked, as he noticed a cut on her forehead. She also looked paler, and it looked like she had grown thinner. He wondered if she ate at all. He also didn't fail to notice the dark circles under her eyes. She must lack sleep. She should be resting instead of looking for a laboratory to go.

When Luciana didn't answer, he noticed that she was asleep. This is the second time he saw her asleep. Did she even know how tired she was? He decided to leave her to sleep. But it didn't take up to five minutes before she opened her eyes.

"Did the bumpy ride wake you?"

"No your highness. I don't sleep for long." She stated.

"Why?"

"Why do you ask your highness?" When he glared at her, she answered. "I have nightmares."

"Every single time?"

"Yes."

His brows furrowed. That was torture. He wondered what happened to her. He wanted to ask, but he decided against it. What was his business anyway? They then spent the rest of their journey in a comfortable silence.

When they got to the laboratory, Raziel was the first to get down, before Luciana followed. The people there quickly bowed at him. Luciana noted how big the laboratory was. It should be one of the biggest buildings in Durville.

Raziel entered, and Luciana followed.

"I will leave you to do whatever research you want." He said, and she bowed slightly. She was grateful for it, as she would not like to be questioned by him.

She took her time, exploring the place. They were a lot of people there, and everyone seemed to be busy with one thing or the other. She saw a fire place, and she quickly went over there. She used a glass to get some of the ashes.

She then took it to a free table, and dropped it there.

She then went around, looking for blood samples. She believed that there would have some, as that was the only place blood was tested. It didn't take her too long before she found some, labelled in different glasses. Blood of humans, vampires, werewolves, witches, sirens, and some other creatures. She took one of the ones for vampires to her table.

She read that ash could be a weakness against vampires, but she wondered how they still cook when the wood produces ash. Perhaps it's effect is only mild.

She poured a little of the blood in an empty glass she found on the table, then she added just a little ash and stirred. She frowned when nothing happened. Was the book wrong? If the book was wrong, the book wouldn't be restricted. She then added a little more ash, and the the blood began to foam. Interesting. She watched it closely, taking note of every single change. By the time the blood stopped foaming, it had turned black. She smiled.

Now she wondered if this would work on the royal vampires. If only she could get their blood.

She also thought of how to make it more potent, so as to kill her oppressors faster. She would do that another day. She also had a list of some herbs that might do the job for her.

By the time she was done, she went to search for Raziel.

"You are done?"

"Yes your highness."

"Show me."

Her eyes widened. "Do you really want to see?"

"Yes."

"I have disposed it off and cleared my table."

"Repeat it then."

What had she gotten herself into? She then took him back to the table.

"Is that vampire blood?" He asked when he saw a glass of blood covered on the table.

"Yes. How do you know your highness? Can you smell it when it is covered?"

"I know you are obsessed with vampires and werewolves." He shrugged. "But mostly vampires." He smirked when he saw the ash. He opened it and placed a finger in it.

"Your highness, it's dang..." She then paused. Maybe this was her opportunity to know if it would work on the royals. She watched him for a while, and nothing happened.

"Permit me your highness." She then added more ash to it.

"You are merciless. What if I lose my finger?" He chuckled. Luciana kept observing, but noticed that nothing happened.

"It's beginning to hurt." Raziel stated, then he removed his hand.

"So it would work, but take a long time?"

"And the effect would be minimal." He answered, and she nodded, taking notes.

When they got back to the castle, Luciana was about going back to the other girls when Raziel called her back. He gave her a pendant.

"You would be permitted to use the laboratory with this." He then zoomed off before she could thank him.
